7800 is the top of the line nvidia card isn't it? that sucker would cost me $500 Shocked

This game = Cod 1 + eninge patch + new levels + new sound + better AI - save systeem + lenght = Cod 2 = good game but I expected more of Codje 2

Nouseforaname, yeah the gfx is high-end, but you need a powerful CPU to make it work 100%.
All in all, my comp is medium I would say. Smile

I used to be a heavy gambler. But now I just make mental bets. That's how I lost my mind.

Runs beautifully on my computer.

1.2 GHz AMD
512 MB RAM
64 MB GeForce3 Ti200

I run it at 800x600 with all the graphic stuff set on extra and in DX9-mode. Haven't had any problems so far. Have no idea how many fps I get, but the game is as smooth as a baby's bottom. Smile

SkepticalEnquirer, what you dont seem realise is that the gf3 cards do not support dx9, so it is running in dx7 mode from the start.
It doesn't mather if it say dx9 in the options, because it's not dx9 since the card miss the hardware for dx9.
The first geforce cards to support dx9 (they suck at dx9 though) was the FX cards, your card is 2 generations before that. Wink

Yeah you said your comp was medium, I was thinking like a 2.5GHZ with a 9800pro or something. Thats why I doubted your claims.

That comp is high end! Like 85/100 on the scale of current computers.

AnimalMother, yes some might say it´s more of a high end system, but I´m comparing it to all the monster computers with AMD 64 processors and SLI and stuff. Smile

Heres some more console commands for you ppl to try out. I haven`t used all of them in COD2, but they did work on COD and COD UO. As the commands seem to be the same in COD and COD2, it wouldn´t be a suprise if they work out well.

cg_drawgun (0-1)
0 = your gun you see on the screen disappears, and you will only see the crosshair.
This command may be considered cheat in multiplayer, so I don´t use it there.
1= Brings the gun back

r_drawsun (0-1)
This command makes the sun in the sky disappear. Helps to get some extra fps.

r_picmip (0-4)
Said to be a real good fps boost command. I haven´t tried it personally, but try and experiment with these numbers.

r_picmip2
Same as above

cg_brass (0-1)
This command disables the empty shells flying out of your weapon when you shoot.
Might give some extra fps.

cg_blood (0-1)
Disables the blood on the ppl when you shoot them ( I think this option can be set to ON or OFF in the game menu)

cg_marks (0-1)
Disables the marks on walls and ground which are made from bullets.
Might give a cpl of extra fps.

I hope this was of any help to you guys. Be sure to keep your eyes open for COD2 tweak guides on the net. There aren´t many out there yet, but there will be soon.

lol you maybe can set the option DX9 but you card doest support dx9 so the game will automaticaly run in dx7 mode Very Happy

Not in MP, but I think it works in SP...

well i guess since we have regenerating health in CoD2 there is no healthbar at all.

does this tweak only work for nVidia cards??? why?
i have an Ati 9800Pro and tried this tweak but i didn't get a fps boost. any1 else tried it?

is there an ATI tweak around? why doesn't ATI take care of this issue? nVidia made a new beta driver optimized for CoD2 in 2 days. this issues that have been adressed by the tweak maker seem to be bugs as he explains. so there must be a solution for ATI users too, innit?

DX7 for a 7800? You stoned? Lol its like the best card out you should be able to run dx9 settings, atleast on medium with any lag full stop....

lol, they have to release a patch. I own 6800gt and amd 64 3000+, when in dx9 mode game is unpalayble in 1280x1024, colors are fucked up and i`ve got like 5fps.

when i run it in dx7 with same settings game runs very smooth Very Happy

Well, that tweaks does work for a 9800Pro/XT, it works for all ATi cards, and nVidia card, because its the game, not the videocard. I got a 20-30% fps boost with this tweaks...

ok you're right.
if i got 17 fps first, then 20-30% boost = like 5fps+ so then i have 22 fps. i didn't realize first, cuz i expected too much. my fault. but there definitely has to be done something.

when a friend sets up an private cracked server how do i connect to it in CoD2?

i am using the -IND server patch

i dont see any possibilty to type in an ip addres within CoD2 MP window

Does anyone else find the MP pretty weird ? its seems to be Quake WWII mod .....its nothing like the single player, just seems to be crap.
