I skimmed through VanOrds "PRE" review on GameSpot and my impression is that he doesn't feel it has evolved much from Far cry 3.

Mind it, the messages can be turned off in the options. No reminder annoyance anymore, we can be glad we can turn it off where most other games just force you to read it

If one where to get his hands on a retail copy before release it would be possible to play the game right away? Because that's what people did with unity right?

Supposedly, yes, all that *seems* to be missing is the base .exe and .dll.

You ask if it will play with the EXE, I say yes, you ask how because it requires activation, I say it will need cracking, you say someone else plays without activation. What do you want from me? Go ask the dude on NeoGAF why he can play before release.

Could be a cracked uPlay client, could be a review copy, could be any number of things. Perhaps even the guy on NeoGAF is lying? If he was playing, surely there'd be footage? screenshots? feedback? Something?
