@deadpoetic: tried it on nvidia settings (ultra + nvidia godrays) with 1.0 version. same setup as you, except the cpu (use a xeon 1230v3). ran like shit. very high works flawless

If by "really fine" you mean <30s range, then sure. I've got a massively OCed 780 and it sure as hell isn't "really fine" on Ultra - again, not unless I want 30s range. AA and Shadow quality is what kills everything, even Fur and Godrays don't impact performance even a fraction of what AA and Shadow quality do.

I'm sorry for coming in here with a question that might be easy to look up, but... Since Ubisoft Montreal have a bunh of new assholes torn on them from angry reviewers and gamers regarding the piss-poor quality of AC Unity, I'm wondering if they've done a similarly bad job on FC4?

Montreal hasn't done shit, Kiev fucked all ports up. But FC4 runs fine, not perfect, but at least it's not the messy shit like AC4 which I've put on hold because some places barely run above 20 fps even! (City is alright though)

Actually that would be Ubisoft Kiev, those are the ones that did Unity and Far Cry 4 .. and, IMOIMOIMO!, Far Cry 4 is a far better experience than Unity. For one, it doesn't require a pair of 970s/980s

I've been playing for a dozen hours or more and it's been great! Not perfect, needs setting tweaking to sustain 60 on a 780 (shadows/AA *rape* framerate) and has some bugs with Ultra lighting and AO, but yes.. the gameplay experience is absolutely great. I recommend getting the Uplay rip along with "Far.Cry4.Crack.Only.Fix.V2-ALI213" and the recently RIN uploaded 1.03 retail update data. Should give you the best experience until the full Steam release comes out Smile

And neither does AC:U honestly.. Especially if you already played the previous ones, you know 60 fps is not doable in the last few years of AC games.. Even when my 770 was new Laughing.
But Unity doesn't "require a pair of 970s/980s" to run "just fine" on 40-45fps.. Hell, your card should be even higher than that fps, seeing you got OC'ed 780 and i just got a plain 770.. (for me, personally, in AC games, anything above 45 fps is just fine for such a game tho.)

No need, it's an emu, works for all versions so far. (as the exe that came with the first ones was because the original was missing from the pre-load, and not some cracked exe)

you dont need a new crack, ali works fine cause its only dll/ini/bin. just dont use the fc4 exe and fc64 dll from initial crack

Nope, it's smooth as butter. Havent checked the FPS with fraps but its definitively over 30fps without any slowdowns

Nividia setting runs like shit too. But Ultra runs really well.

Also, Nvidia settings makes the game runs like if my character is on shrooms. Weird colors, and when I move it leaves a weird trails of shadow and shit

works fine with 1.03 on ultra, nvidia settings stutter like hell.

but ubisoft fucked up again, same as with fc3 on release. cant remap the controls, use rmb to walk, and sdf for the rest. walking backward doenst work at all and f works for strafing right but is the same time melee attack even though i remapped that all... any idea to fix that besides waiting for the next patch?

Performance is largely improved on 1.3 Very Happy Maximum *everything* now, with the exception of AA which is still SMAA, and it's 60. No more need to lower shadow quality. Funnily enough, "Lighting" option is gone now and there's a new one called "Trees Relief" Very Happy

"Shadows" now goes up to "Soft Shadows" with nVidia preset and they have a larger perf hit than "Ultra"

Well on 1.00 "Ultra" brought my performance down to mid30s/high40s. Lowering Shadow quality, using SMAA and - due to the visual bugs - Lighting on V.High/SSAO, it was 60. This was with Fur and Godrays too.

TXAA2 still hits performance a bit but, strangely, not as much as it did in 1.00. No more dropping to 30s Neutral Anyway, full "Ultra" (with SMAA, HBAO+, Enhanced Godrays, Fur, Trees Relief) and it's great! Much better performance than 1.00 though it does still have high utilisation, 80%++ on my card.

Oh and the mouse feels perfect now \o/

Honestly? I'm starting to think framerate counters are the bane of enjoyment, since I seem to spend time obsessing over that damned thing >_<
