At first the Game run like arse on my 4790K + 770 GTX 2GB, no matter what i tried. So i thought to myself lets wait till some patches are out.
Coudnt resist and tried some more variations and now the game runs really decent.
I had to lower resolution from 1080p to 900p, tunred off vsync as it gave me tearing and everything on Ultra, HBAO+ and PCSS and it gives me a steady 45-66 fps with no stuttering.
when i turn down Enviromental Details to High i gather additional ~20fps, so i get then 60(mostly 65) to 80 fps and the game doesnt look different than on ultra enviromental details.
I think i can live with those settings and play the game now. btw. Game is unpatched and so far no bus at all (have only played 3 hours).

As i said, vsync is off as it gave me tearing, AO is set to HBAO+
Oh yeah and before i forget, im using TXAA cause no AA in this Game makes it looking really ugly.

@banish: a look at the orbit_api.ini solves your problem.

Here is another Set inside a building, again first is high and second ultra high.

And yeah, im using FXAA and not TXAA, TXAA gives me microstuttering.

The New Drivers are giving me a huge fps boost, gathered 10-20fps more. Need some more testing now.
//EDIT
When my max was 80 fps on the roofs, i now get over 100fps.
Will try now Patch 1.02 again.

Well yeah I can play fine with 720p as well, but then I don't need AA either because it's already blurry as fuck

@DaLexy
It's your vram, i have 2 gens lower i7 and a 4GB 770. EVERYTHING , except AA on FXAA and no soft shadows, maxed on 1080p gives me 40-60 fps depending on the scene ofc. But i see my vram hovering around 3.8GB in use.

1080p is too much for the 2GB VRAM, no matter what settings i try. Now i can live with my settings and peasent 900p derpsole resolution.

Is anyone having issues with far away buildings having extremely low resolution regardless of what settings you're using?

Yep, it's the LoD distance in this game, it's very low compared to before.
The engine just can't handle it i guess.. and instead of investing in a new engine that CAN handle all this (because that means no annual release), they just keep forcing this one to handle more than it can..

Except, not everyone has that issue. Even people with pretty much the same rig, some have the issue, some don't.

Wait some don't have the ugly low res buildings?
From pretty much every screenshot i saw, the same distance when buildings started losing detail.. I've yet to see one that doesn't have this "issue"

Did you restart the game before taking those screens? Cause they look _very_ similar.

I thought the same, and then there was this voice in my head: Ubisoft.
