It has to be one of the worst games released in 2004 so far (along with Theif 3).
Windows XP SP2
Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2.0
Athlon XP2500 @ 2.4GHz (overclocked)
1GB Corsair XMS DDR400 (overclocked)
Radeon 9700 Pro (overclocked)
2x60GB Maxtor 7200/8MB
TDK CD/RW 52x32x52
TDK DVD Burner 8X/8X
10MBit Cable

It does have some cool stuff to it, which is worth checking out on a rainy day. Definately not worth a purchase at this point, although the patch they are releasing soon seems to clear a lot of the problems up.
But as it stands right now, the bad stuff outweighs the good. Better wait awhile while they patch it up if you're considering purchasing it, otherwise, it's worth checking out if you're bored.

I liked the concept. It could have been a realy great game. The MP is fun, but it has some bugs.
The SP is shit and AI is stupid as hell. BF1942 SP is WAY better than the Soldner SP.

Is it possible yet to mount and get the CZXISO working with any emulation software? Can't burn it right now and not gonna try the RAZOR1911 release if MP isn't working with it...

I Mounted with latest daemon tools and it worked perfectly. I don't have any emulation enabled on daemon tools, but I have RMPS emulation enabled in Alcohol 120%.
Don't know if that realy matters though.

The Razor-version is working mounted (dameon v3.44). As many people here say, it´s not worth buying yet and is slow as hell to load, so only try it a rainy and boring day.
To the games defence I would like to say that it show humongous (sp?) potential. The variety of vehicles and weapons alone is wonderful and it seems like a game that is easy to expand as well.
When the game is fully patched (read: out of early beta), it will probably rock and I am almost certain I will spend some (very, very, VERY) hard-earned cash on it.

i tried the first mission where you're supposed to kill someone. i got into my jeep, drove up on a small hill 3-400m from the target, got out, ran 2-250m, shot him with 5 shots or something, ran back to my car and drove back to the base. i really really really expected some sort of resistance, guards or mines or whatever, but nothing..
im playing it with my old gf3 card and it feels really slow. running doesn't actually feel like running, more like walking-speed in other fps's, driving feels like i'm on a moped or something, even though the speedometer says 130km/h
long loading times, slow gameplay, did i miss the tutorial?

I was playing Soldner for 2 days now,and I must say I'm not impressed at all .It's still super buggy and for some reason I rarely get pings below 100.
The bugs ruin some fun in the game, and gfx are really ugly and don't add to the total fun.And biggest problem is that the game is SLOW, super SLOW! It's not because of FPS, that's how the game is.Getting weapon out 5 secs, throwing granads 7 sec, his running very slow and even jumping through windows it's slow.
Maybe if a couple of patches would be released this game may turn to something, but right now it's a pile of junk.

The bugs don't surprise me, just look at the name of the publishing company -> JoWooD, that says it all, they seem to rush the developers for early market releases.

To tell you the truth I got it and installed it but left it there. It took about 10 mintues to actually load to the damn start screen. Then I needed to input the cd key in there but I didnt write it down so i had to exit, get it, wait another 10 minutes, and find out that the cd key is invalid. Yea. I just said fuck it and started playing UT2004 and Socom 2.

In my opinion the game is worth the money after getting this patch hell even before it the game was fun

It's not a matter of wasting bandwidth it's a matter of wasting the 50 dollars when the game crosses over the border. I'd say it's worth it, both the fifty smackaroos and the 400-ish megabyte download. I love this game it has so many features you would end up playing till 4 am just to find out every little thing. This patch seems to deliver the problems people were having so at this point it seems to be worth it. Servers are out there, most are European so if you are in the North America you wouldn’t get a great ping, but then again this game only came out in Europe. Some North American servers are running and they ping quite nicely, if you find good people on it, you will have fun till sundown. Game play is there (though buggy before this patch, haven’t tried after just got back from work, I smell like ass so I need to bathe) Online is there, massive maps, cool vehicles, helicopters and such, loads of guns, and money to buy it all. Some say you need a top of the line machine to enjoy it, just lower the shadows and you will enjoy it at maximum fps. I have an 96xt, a mobo which is pre 2003, and enough ram to run adobe premiere with only eight minutes of waiting. And it runs quite nicely here. So yeah blah game is fun. Get it if you can, then buy it if you love it I know I will/am once it comes to future shop. GO FLAMES!

I see a 150MB download on their main page, it says its the Stand Alone Server patch. Is that what we use on the retail version of the game to fix all these problems? Or is the client seperate from the server where the patch is only meant for those of us hosting the game?
