Tbh the only ctd issue I had was related to overlay.I disabled riva tuner's "custom direct3d support" and I've never had a crash after that. But I always expect the worst Very Happy

yeah you have to disable any overlays and crap, however i was fine and dandy the first 6 hours, now i have joined the "random ctd without any error msg" crowd Mad

i crashed climbing a ladder in the hinterlands and after that its does the CTD quite often, seems like reverting to an older save makes the problem go away .. for a while

I disabled only origin overlay, besides, it didn't work anyway. Although I think I didn't have to. In my case it didn't cause any crashes.

I have afterburner running+riva tuner coz I prefer to monitor stuff when I play games).

or probably they have something causing crashes enabled in settings . I had custom direct3d support enabled so that steam overlay could work and it caused ctds often.

It is hardly an excuse for having crashes though Laughing so derpware'd better get their shit together and start delivering patches , pronto

i had zero crashes in 23h of gaming. UNTIL i used MSI afterburner to measure my temps.
Whenever i run this program with DA: I, the game gets highly unstable. Since MSI Afterburner is based on the Rivatuner, im starting to see a pattern here Smile

Never, I presume. I'm not sure it would be possible to "fix" them, not without essentially stripping out the existing controls and tactical mode and starting again. Probably the best you could hope for is that they might increase the responsiveness a bit, so it feels less like anything you do requires wading through treacle. I seriously doubt they will change any of the actual controller-centric console action game mechanics.

Wtf why does anyone treat D:OS like some kind of RPG diamond? I played it, meehh, I decided to let it stew a few months. Maybe I should pick it up again soon. The start felt weak though.

Actually the combat is arguably worse than DA2, at least control-wise. DA2 was action bullshit as well, but at least it retained some element of DA1's controls.

This game should be renamed endless frustration, as that is what it is.

The camera is really fucked up, tactical mode is unbearable because of it. Your party doesn't carry out the orders you give them, not even in tactical mode. AI is completely stupid, by far the worst of all DA games. Party members do stuff 8 year old people controlling WoW characters wouldn't do.

Nightmare (hardest difficulty is the only one I play games at, because I'm not a console bitch, is why)> enemy HP and damage is buffed.

I'm doing a rift, can't beat it. Why? I have top of the line crafted items, all my potions upgraded, good party composition, plenty of CC and damage skills, but I just can't out DPS the enemy. Why? Because JUST LIKE IN DA2, attack damage makes up the bulk of your damage on Nightmare, because of the long cooldowns of skills. CC length / enemy HP is also an important ratio. You see a melee character coming for a ranged character, taunt him, right? On cooldown. Then CC him, right? Already used 3 ccs on him, gone, still 2/3 life. Eventually, no matter, what you do, he gets to your mage, because of HP bloat.

But Radicalus, you simply stuck, why not use POSITIONING, ya fag?! Wrong. The game will random spawn enemies on your ass. Thanks.

----

Then there's this little gem: your character LEVEL acts as a sort of multiplier. When I was level 4, went in to some caves with level 8 spiders and some other mobs. Got raped in seconds, didn't even stand a chance, did 1s as damage. I came back at level 5, nothing changed, not my weapons, not my armor, massacred the level 8 stuff.

This is WoW level BULLSHIT right here.

Your skills? Don't matter. Your build? Doesn't matter. ONLY thing, that matters, is whether the designers decided you should be able to clear that place or not.

A GOOD RPG system takes skill in to account (in old school RPGs your tactical prowess, in games like G2/Risen or TW2 your dexterous skills).

In this game, the BEST choices you can make in combat, are marginally better than the WORST choices you can make.

My opinion about the story and the world, you already know.

I fucking hope BioWare dies and rots, and everything the did this decade gets forgotten.

Fucking 87/100. Gaming press needs to die and rot as well, this game sucks.

I like this game. It has very high production values. The K&M controls are indeed weird, it's a strange control scheme. The character not locking on to an enemy, i.e. following the enemy when it moves, makes no sense whatsoever. It doesn't bother me much actually, but if they can really patch this that'd be good. I'm going to try a gamepad next time I play, I already sense it'll be better with a gamepad.

Good game, I only played two hours though. The game looks beautiful IMO.
