I forgot which setting but one setting often turns on by default that causes a lot of slowdown. Turn that off and the game is butter smooth. |
It's übersampling. Although I doubt it's "on" by default.

It was when I played it a few months back. I got like 20-30fps until I disabled it and then I got 70-80fps.

Strange. I too played the game a few month ago and it wasn't enabled on my end. Perhaps it depends on hardware power.

When it comes to download speeds, origin have one of the best, at least on my end it always maxes out.
Havent downloaded stuff of steam in a while, but that was always rubbish when it came to download speeds, even if you can select from gazillion of servers.
Kb/m is fine, haven tried using controller though, you have a mouse pointer in the game, even if it disappears now and then.

Playing with a x360 pad and it's imo way better than kb/m

You can play with a kb/m, it's just radically different from DA1/2 if you go in expecting something like that. I eventually got used to it, working around its limitations, although it's still constantly irritating.

After almost finishing this game, you know what worries me? That the open world of Witcher 3 won't impress me after the world of this one. I'm actually impressed how detailed it is, how much there is to do in it and how well the game runs. Don't care if it's divided in to large sections.

Since I'm pretty much broke right now and will be for a while and can't afford this right now, I was wondering if there would be any humper that would be so inclined to let me borrow his or her account, when they finish the game, to me, so I could finish it. Of course, collateral will be offered if anyone is inclined to help me. Thanks and sorry I'm resorting to this.
EDIT: Solved, thanks, Int!

stupid wank game, it's so basic, full of annoying characters and recycled voice actors from every past bioware game. If they invested as much into a good story as they did with the graphics I'd might consider it a decent rpg.

It's interesting to see how many people bought the game due to the fact it's not cracked yet. It seems protection does work after all.

The thing is, DA3 just looks oversaturated to me. The game looks pretty great, I'll admit, but it's almost cartoonish in a sense, everything I've seen is so colorful that I wouldn't believe it's the real world for a second.
Compare the above screenshot to this one:

Massive difference.

In my case is the other way. I haven't bought it because it hasn't been cracked, so I can't try the game before I buy it.

you are a very tiny minority. try before buy is bullshit. it's not 1999 any more. there is youtube, there are streams, there are 100s of media and user reviews. you can pretty much know every game inside out without ever touching it.

That's the impression they are aiming for, but a lot of that is classic Biowarian "illusion of choice". Many, if not most, of the areas funnel you through restricted "corridors" to "rooms" of content, blocking access off with unscaleable cliffs or, my old favourite, invisible fucking walls. Sometimes you might think "hey, fuck slogging through shitty combat to close that breach/deal with that group of enemies, I'll just skirt around it to get to the thing I want on the other side" only to be cockblocked by terrain. I'm running into that sort of thing more and more as new areas open up.

Inquisition has its fair share of drab, brown environments. I sure as shit wouldn't want the whole game to be desaturated in the name of grim-dark realism. Having areas with some vibrant colour helps break up the monotony.

Yeah, the game has an "oil-painting" approach to the color saturation. Ironically, DA3 graphics pallete and effects are like an upgraded version of The Witcher 2 art style .
I'm already happy they threw away the "minimalist/edgy" art style from DA2.
I just hope The Witcher 3 has the same amount of content/ variety that DA3 have. I bought it thinking i would regret it, but it really grew on me.
If you're waiting for another DA: O, you will be disappointed, cause it seems after GTAV and Skyrim, everyone wants a piece of the open world action. Even TW3 will have an open world action vibe. Hell, even Kojima got in line to take a piece of that pie .
But if you want a solid action/rpg, this is not a bad game. I bet if it didn't have the "Dragon Age" title, and was made by any other company other than BiowarEA, half this forum would be crying GOTY
