Who is that asshole? Dragon age inquisition is best looking rpg out there, seriously there are places screenshots doesnt do justice and attention to details is incredible.
People complain about mmo like quests, but if there was mmo where quests were as good as filler quests in DOI, it would overtake wow in a heartbeat.
Skyrim filler quests were much worse than ones in DOI, had no impact at all and there were about 20 times more of them. Same goes for Risen 3. But both of those games were considered "great".
There are things that could be improved, but it sure as hell isnt landscape, visuals or filler quests( heck ignore them if you wish) everyone seem to forget how many filler/fetch quests there were in DAO and how bad they were. There was a lot, wont even mention all those "gift" quests.

Vavra is known for his stance against the current state of affairs in the industry for quite some time now. I guess that's why he had troubles with finding investors for King Come at the start, but he's definitely not an asshole for sticking to his principles and voicing an opinion.

Although Mafia is a great game, it was not RPG and KCD is still in the works.
Do you have actually anything to say on what Smikis posted? coz he is somewhat right

for example about his issues with quests and landscape in openworld games you canread Vavra's blogpost about that and yuo will understand his problem with what he calls "potato landscape"
http://warhorsestudios.cz/index.php?page=blog&entry=blog_011
He nicely summed that up in intro to that article:
Quote: | You are Krutor, a wild barbarian from the land of Morkroch. You have travelled a very long journey, across high mountains to the famous imperial city of Lhota, the capitol of the world and largest agglomeration in the known universe, whose fame touches the stars.
The city consists of precisely fifteen buildings (one of which is the imperial palace); the town is inhabited by 30 NPCs, including Emperor Lojza, Archmage Lotrando and all of the members of the guilds of thieves, mages and warriors.
You visit the emperor, who sits alone in the throne hall, and he assigns you with an quest. The land is terrorised by an evil dragon from hell and Lojza is powerless. He has sent an entire imperial army against it, but the monster has killed all five soldiers. Now, he needs a hero like you! You have to find and climb the mystical mountain, Lohen, on which no human has ever set foot, and behead the dragon.
You accept the quest and set out from the town gate. The mystic mountain Lohen is precisely 150 metres from the gate and is about 50 metres high. All of the inhabitants of the city are either retarded, blind or crippled if they have not managed to notice it for centuries. After an approximately 30-metre walk to the mountain, you come to ‘no man’s land’ and are attacked by bandits. During another 120m walk to the peak, you also notice an ancient fortress Rumloch, a secret dungeon of doom and a bandit hideout. At the peak of the mountain, you kill a one-hundred-metre dragon by beating its foot with a rusty sword and drinking potions. Then, you rob the corpses of the imperial army (all five) and on the way back to the castle are killed by a wild boar.
Welcome to an average RPG.
Potato-Landscape Compression
You might have already figured out where I am headed with this. The design map of today’s RPGs is useless, because everything is compressed so that every ten metres you could find something fantastic or at least could be attacked by a monster every ten seconds, because otherwise it would just be ‘boring’...
This environment compression however negatively affects the graphics. In order to place a castle, cave or bandit camp every ten metres, you have to create a lunar landscape and hide the locations in nonsensical craters or beyond a hills that you must make as high as possible so that it would not be possible to see very far behind them. The result is an environment which is miles away from a real landscape, it is absolutely impossible to orientate within it without a map and in most cases looks bad. I call it a potato landscape, because the terrain surface is reminiscent of a potato’s surface. ..........continues http://warhorsestudios.cz/index.php?page=blog&entry=blog_011 |
He just dont like the state and design of the recent games and is trying to do something with it(KCD) and like bronson said he has his principles and really does voice his opininions

I haven't played this game and usually don't give a flying fuck about reviews and scores, but just wanted to say that user ratings on aggregator sites are completely pointless. As soon as there is even a hint of controversy around a game all the whiners go to MC to give it 0, even without having played it, just because they don't like the copy protection, or they don't like the publisher, or they don't like that the pc version doesn't scale up to 8k resolution, or whatever...
User ratings on public websites are worthless, they're too easily manipulated by a vocal minority.

It's a really good looking RPG. The best so far. The characters in the videos are goddamn fucking detailed. It's a wild game for real men! And gay men regarding that gay bullfucker if you know what I mean....

I don't get this drooling over graphics. Some of you here act like filthy console peasants. Who the fuck cares about shiny graphics if the UI is crap; gameplay, story and writing are utter shite and the tac cam is virtually useless?

Fanboys? Hardly.
However I do find it funny how some just love throwing this word around. Same as with "haters" lol

The characters are fugly imho. Whoever designed them must have a real talent at fucking things up. I mean having at your disposal one of the best engines out there and creating these inbreds?

I'm not too far in the game ( 7h-8h ) but so far it's like DA:O. Dialogs are not quite on the same lvl though but definitely miles ahead of DA2. It seems like DA:O. You unlock more dialog options as you progress through the story.
Game definitely gets better with time. I mean after the intro I thought I would never touch this game again . Controls are still horrible but that is my only (big) complain so far. ( no auto-attack outside of tactical cam. I mean really??!! )
There are lots of mmo- like quests but you don't have to do them, just ignore them. Lots of interesting side quests, too.
So far it's like everyone said between DA-O and DA2 |
I see. Thanks for the detailed info
1 and 2 are still amazing.

5 hours is nothing in this game, it just started opening up to me around 24hrs in , yeah, all previous ours is just upgrading stats, opening the world and beginning to form the story.

What was wrong with Bound by flame...awesome game that I finished twice.
Been playing this for 20 hours and yes,I'm repeating what has been said here,it's not bad.
The beginning was boring until you got to the world map and unlike some,I found Hinterlands quite fun. I explored the place and found new stuff to do,met new people and got allies.
You do get those "fetch us 5 iron and 10 hides" etc quests, but you don't have to do them and even if you do get them purely by accident just by talking to someone, you can get them while doing other "proper" sidequests.
Besides, you basically need those items they ask you to get anyway if you want to craft stuff,so it's no biggie.
The game has a slow start, just like the first Witcher back in the day..not that I'm comparing them.
Give it a try and don't let the cheesy dialogue and shemales bother you.

@vagonite: thx for info , wow thats even worse than FFXIII - i just dont have enough time to burn on this shitty MMO-trashy start at the moment , even though the game might be amazing later on, apart from my Hinderlands try ,I only saw my friend play some hours through Storm Coast and yeah it was much better but i still didnt saw that "amazing-ness" all the reviews talk about, it just feel a bit better than DA2, but from what i saw/played DA:O is still miles ahead of this. On the scale where DA2 is the peasant and DA:O the king - DA:I feels like squire
So for now its big no for me, although I will get to play this poperly one day when its patched and DLCs out ,but for now i will rather play some more enjoyable games from my backlog(+-5 years till DA:I judging by my backlog and i am pretty sure that when i get to the game Denuvo will be just one laughable DRM )

The "bad story" is by far better than the non existing 0815 motherfucking stupid stories in Call of Duty, Assassins Creed or Far Cry. Even Risen was worse.
So if you whine about anything here then plz fuck the whole gaming industry and never play a game again. Cause it won't get that much better. We are not dealing with blockbuster movies here. It's a good heroic story and the only story that might be better is the Geralt Witcher dickstory coming soon. Hopefully it's gonna be good but fuck me Dragon Age Inquisition is quite good.
People complaining about this game are console dicks or have bad pcs therefore shit stuttering graphics or are story-dialogue haters then of course this shit is not for you.
And the controls are bad regarding the tactical view thats for sure but who cant live with that? Noobs I'd call them!
Ah it feels good to be back in the Nforce forum.
