Reminds me of Predator 2, where there was an Alien drone skull mounted on the trophy wall in the ship at the end. Collective shits were lost over that one Very Happy

I quite like it so far, combat is pretty dumb but it's the same as elder scrolls essentially. The game looks lush tbh.

Whoever it was in here that stated this game is better with a controller - understatement of the fucking year. Holy shit, it's like a completely different game once I plugged in my 360 controller. Tactical camera seems better, and the ability to play and pause tactical combat with the right trigger is absolutely invaluable - it feels way more natural than the keyboard's jury rigged "pause" button.

Note, I'm not saying I agree with this (what they've done to the PC controls is unforgivable), but if you have a controller, USE IT, despite any misgivings you may have (I was disgusted at the idea at first too). Trust me.

Yep using a controller makes the game a HELL of a lot more enjoyable. (um, sadly?)

(i feel dirty now.)

The war table is also directly taken from ME.

I'm really liking it too. If you go in knowing it's more action oriented than tactical, then you won't be setting false expectations. Whomever said the graphics were bad must have the textures on low. This game looks amazing. It runs really nicely on my 3+ year old rig with a GTX 770. I normally don't play rpg's outside of The Witcher games and MMO's, but I'm definitely digging this game.

IMO not yet, it depends on your opinion on using gamepad, on the way you want to play (action/tactical) and on MMO-like design and the fact that the game starts to great after around 20h ingame. If you can stomach all this, it might be worth it for you.

I am enjoying the game quite a bit so far as well.
Controls, specifically in combat, and the UI that's a bit too streamlined (both in style and in content/information it provides) are its biggest issues as far as I am concerned.

You can figure out how to work with the controls you have in time, but you still struggle with it more than you should, and the fact that even taken as is the system is not without issues (the tactical camera likes to get snagged on terrain for example, forcing you to literally guide it around as if it was a character on the ground).

In general, you just can't shake the feeling that you are not in total control of your party at times, even if you disable all their "tactics" and behaviour. "Hold position", for example, gets overriden by any order, so if you don't pay attention you might notice your party running around all over the "arena" ruining your perfect positioning and planning.
I like micro-managing and giving every order myself (I had all behaviours disabled for the party in DAO as well), but here you have to keep an eye on things more than you should, verifying that your party is actually doing what you intended them to do.
A command queue system and individual behaviour controls (like hold fire and stop) would go a long way here.

There seems to be lack of some proper documentation as well. You can order your party members to go to a specific point and hold position there by double-clicking on that point - and that is something I discovered completely by accident. There could be some others to make my life easier and I don't even know! Smile

All in all though, this turned out to be one of those games I just can't stop playing. Last game like this was Wasteland 2. Judging by how that turned out, I will reach a point when I will be ready to take a break, but until then I will sink hours upon hours at a time into this Very Happy

The arm and leg meshes are separate from the torso so they can be interchanged, as you'll see when you craft and do upgrades. During some animations, like arms behind the back, you can see inside of the mesh, and because only normal faces are rendered you see right through to the other side (i.e. backface culling). If you are seeing that all the time, then there is an issue with the particular model in use. Have you tried giving her different armour to see if the issue persists?

Yeah just changed the armor and everything is fine. I was using a vanguard armor with upgraded arms. That armor combo must be broken

Ok, having logged 14 hours this weekend, let me go ahead and put on my flame suit.

This is easily the GOTY for me. Don't go into it expecting a tactical RPG. Go into it expecting Gothic type exploration. You are rewarded for exploring. There aren't many invisible walls, VERY open game. HUGE map. Tons of enemies. Tons of loot, upgradable loot.

It crashed twice in 14 hours, and ran at 40-60FPS

Very polished game

Don't even try KB + M, go straight into the action with a gamepad.

It does make things easier indeed, but I said it wrong Very Happy

It's double right click. Well, actually it's simply an additional right click on the character or their final waypoint - doesn't have to be a "double click" per se Smile

A PC RPG that you pretty much have to play with a gamepad.

I love 2014. Can't wait what 2015 has in store for pc gaming!
