There is one thing I noticed happening more and more in DAI which is getting rather annoying. At random points some party members suddenly abandon the order you gave them and decide to attack someone at random. I still can't figure out what triggers it.

It's not something I see during typical combat, probably since my party doesn't spend a lot of time following one specific order with me constantly ordering them around, but when this does appear in the most infuriating fashion is when you send that dumbass Herald of Andraste to interact with the rift...

You spend some time getting him in the clear from enemies and then send him off to the rift only to see him stop and run back into combat at random. It's annoying enough re-issuing the order if you pay attention and see him abandoning it before he gets too far back, but nothing is more infuriating than holding off those warping stun-locking "Terrors" on your last shreds of HP, counting on that rift burst to stun them, so you can catch a break and turn this around only to see that asshole run right back into the fray like fucking Leeroy Jenkins Rage

How do I see what the level advice is for new areas? Are things like "investigate the shards" or "rescue soldiers" on the war table new areas? Or are they just missions in a small area? I can't find a legend for the war table, so I don't understand what the icons mean.

@MinderMast: set your tank to follow herself, which basically means "do not get distracted". Focus on taunting skills (i.e. make them preferable in the tactics screen). Set your pther two guys to defend your tank, focus on things like barrier. Control your guy and let your party do their thing. With this Cassandra goes in rambo style and the other two give her support. I deal massive hit and run damage with my rogue. Enemy rogues are asshole though, using my own tactics against me. Bastards cloak and hit Solas or Varric hard and run Sad People on the official forum are saying DW rogues don't work on harder difficulties, that's bullshit. Don't forget regen potions, they're pretty much essential.

I think you missed his point. Ignore the zeros and tens. Focus on the average user score.
When a game is good it will receive a 7+ user score. The big review site scores on the other hand....

But there is no average score. Everyone gives ether 9-10 or 0-1. No one gives 5 or 6.
Evey game where 90% of user score are either 0 or are completely useless. Yes, completely... that average does not mean anything, exempt that there are two teams that are competing to fudge score in one way or another.

Having 50% people giving 0 and another 50% giving 10 does mean that game is worth 5/10. It just means that at leat 95% are lying about how would they rate the game.

I actually just did set all my party members to follow themselves after posting, not sure if it made a difference in regards to my particular annoyance though. Before that I had tactics completely disabled.
I prefer to have total control over my party - I pretty much play it "turn-based" mode with heavy usage of pausing. That way I manage to get away through most "encounter" fights relatively unscathed (playing on nightmare) with minimal to no use of potions. But dem rifts that spawn 3+ Terrors at a time are pretty annoying. They warp in and can knock down my entire party if I lose track of things even for a second. I use a combination of various skills to keep them out of action as much as I can, but it's no fun when certain members fail to comply in a crucial moment Very Happy

I do use regen potions in tougher fights - they are indeed quite useful Smile

what's wrong with using gamepad on PC? that's the beauty of PC gaming, you can use any input device you like. it's your problem you are too stubborn to try anything but mouse+kb.

Care to re-read what you wrote right there?

True... except the game forces you to use gamepad to get any sort of enjoyment out of it. THAT is not "using any input device you like". That is "either use this specific input or you can all go fucking then".

What level are you? That dragon is frying my buns.

I must be doing something wrong, using just m/kb.

Also, Denuvo's DRM will be cracked. The people that developed it were in class with way smarter people. It will just take time...

Smarter people arent out there to break something, not saying it wont be cracked, but that comment is silly. Just spent like 3 hours talking with npcs in skyhold some stories are incredible. People might bash this as generic save the world story (like there is something wrong with that? ), but the dialogues are superb

These comments are the reason why im not buying the game yet. Havent tried it and i dont have anything against gamepads, on the contrary, they're ok for call of booby or skyrim or whatever.. but the "succesor" to baldurs gate, tactical top down rpg, better with a friking gamepad ?! If its true then.. fk it

yeah and multiplayer is a mess too, more often then not it'll port the team into some ice level and you'll fall from invisible paths into oblivion and die, and game will get stuck with no alternative but to close the app from task manager.. it's a mess man.

edit@ problem seems to have sorted itself out, i'm not slating a game just for the sake of dissing it just because the hype which is DA hasn't exactly had a great track record.
Have encountered a few other bugs since though, but none as game breaking as what I witnessed earlier thankfully.

From Prima Guide via reddit:

Haven - L1-4
Hinterlands - L4-7, L8-11, L12+
Val Royeaux - L4-6
Fallow Mire - L8-10, L12-15
Storm Coast - L7-11, L13-15+
Forbidden Oasis - L8-12, L5-15, L18-20
Skyhold - L10-12
Crestwood - L10-12, L13+
The Western Approach - L10-13, L14+
The Exalted Plains - L10-13, L13-16
Emerald Graves - L14-16, L16-20
Emprise du Lion - L16-19, L19-22
The Hissing Wastes - L19-23

Anything that requires power on war table unlocks new region/clears path/small areas (missions/ruins, etc).

I'm trying to decode half the crap that Sara spits out.

BTW Who put their platformer in my RPG with the jumping up the rock formation to get to the last shard in the Hinterlands??
