So I've been really tired some time now, Im so used to it that I just dont think of it mosty but recently its gotten worse, to the point that im strunglingt to keep up at work.
My girlfriend mentioned I should take some tests just to eliminate some possible physical reasons, one of them being problems related to the thyroid.
Reading up on the symptoms I kinda recognise most if not all of them.
Now Im aware you shouldnt really do these kinds of self diagnosis because of the fact that its so easy to think you have something when you dont but certanly its worth checking up on
My question to you guys is if anyones had issues with their thyroid and general tiredness and feelings of depression, not being interested in much and so on.
Its gotten to a point where Im worried I'll lose my job and just sit at home all day infront of the computer...

I went to the doc for a general checkup, but at the time I was also constantly tired and without drive to do anything. I thought it was just because of over-working. They took blood samples and called me in 4 days later. He said that my tyhriod and testosterone levels are a bit low and prescribed l-thyroxin 50 and I took em until I finished the whole package. At my next checkup he said that everything is fine now and that I don't require it anymore.
Afterwards I felt more alive and accomplished more stuff. Maybe it was just a psychological barrier that hindered me from doing this in the first place, but getting some "pills to fix me" helped.

Yeah, I'm on medication which has a sedative effect, so I put my symptoms, the same as what you describe, down to the effects of them. I recently went to the doctors for a blood test as part of a routine checkup and it turned out to be an underactive thyroid.
Before I could sleep for 13-14 hours and still wake up drousy.

Yeah, long story short go to your doc, it's a routine exam for their laboratories.

I was diagnosed with low thyroid function too.
I take l-thyroxin 25 daily.
My metabolism was boosted, I feel stronger emotions again. I'm happy and feel alive. But also much more aggressive.
25-50 you can take as food additives. You can even pop double dose if you're going to do something physically active - you'll be full with energy and can't stop at one place
The TSH stabilization could be only temporary. Check your blood again at 3, 6 and 12 months to be sure you don't need to boost it anymore.

My dutch friend had this problem and also getting a bit chubby in places, he had regular checkups, it seemed very often to me - from thyroid and blood sugar levels etc all needing attention, he beat it himself in the end, they stuffed him with meds and yes they made his levels all balance out, but for himself it did some odd things that he did not like so kept looking for other ways to fix it.
He did, he ate more healthy and did regular exercise and guess what... does not need the pills no more all his levels are normal. All the time for years the doctors were adjusting his thyroid dosage and other shit and he just had enough with it all.

Oh, and most important thing is...do not Google your symptoms! Google always says...you have a serious illness and you will die !
Edit: Contrary, I wish I could sleep like a normal person every night. Without Ambien it would be all fucking then. | Just checked google. You have aids. In your balls. Cutting them off with a rusty saw while chewing a hand full of thumbtacks seems to work for some people. Good luck!

I googled it, and it's cancer. It's always cancer.
Oh how many times I googled my symptoms, only to see that I have cancer xD
Migraine -> Brain tumor.
Sore throat from acid reflux -> HPV induced throat cancer.
Cramps from lactose intolerance -> Intestines cancer.
The list goes on
