I lost all interest in AC with Unity, you cant get away with releasing a game as broken as that one, for me this ip can crash and burn for all i care.

Same thoughts. How can they announce a new game, when Unity isn't what we expected?

I am still waiting for Ubisoft Kiev to make an AC game from the Soviet era with Stalin. What is your guess - Stalin was an assassin, or a templar?

Like I've tried playing Assassin's Creed I and II multiple times, but I just cannot play them for more than 30 minutes. They are just so bad. The combat system is absolutely ridiculous with enemies forming a queue instead of attacking you all at once and the story is just some wannabe Da Vinci Code metaphysical non-sense.
I sort of understand how Call of Duty became so popular, but what makes this one so special? |
As arguably the biggest AC fan on this board (I think? ) I feel like I can answer this question.
For me it's the philosophical discussion (that was most prominent in AC1, but is still there in AC: Revelations, AC3, Black Flag and Unity). The question of how to use power and how Templars and Assassins use it. Is doing an evil deed for the sake of good truly evil? Every man that Altair found and killed in AC1 had his own reasons for doing the bad things he did.
And every time Altair killed one of these men he was forced to question himself, the brotherhood and his leader.
Like Garnier de Naplouse in Acre, who was experimenting and drugging sick and poor people because he wanted to cure mental illness.
Or Majd Addin of Jerusalem, who lead a brutal regime in his city but in his wake he left a city with little corruption or crime.
Or another one that was starving the city, but only because he was building up the cities granary for a coming siege.
Overall the Templars were depicted as this shadowy group, mysterious influential force puppeteering the events from behind the scenes.
I also love how each city is fantastically portrayed in every game, with so many historical figures, buildings etc.

Hey, don't be so hard on them, it's not easy to port shitty derpzole games while you hear the gunfire in the streets.
