My anti-virus has just picked this up , Well these 2...



Is it safe to remove , I have no idea what this crap is... apart from hearing i can't removing rootkits since windows messes up Rolling Eyes

lol.. a root kit gives whoever put it there full access to your system (admin access).. Its called a root kit because they originated on *nix systems ( root = superuser account )..

Anywho, you HAVE to remove it, but if it has been added to a needed system file I would be very careful. It looks safe though, I would check out the viral websites and find a removal tool Smile!

FYI: The file connects to an IRC server behind the scenes, and waits for commands, seriously, you need to sort it out!

I get that when i check for them , its picked up lots of keys Confused And most of the things i notice my are system files my PC needs , then again im not too sure...

Thanks for the useful tools guys! In regards to the Sony Rootkit ordeal, I believe the EFF are taking them to court...or at least issued Sony papers. Sony in response recalled about 2.5million albums off of shelves and agreed to replace any that had already been sold. I wonder if they will include those figures next time they are throwing up numbers about money lost to piracy?
