is it possible for US steam users to gift farcry 4 to UK steam users.. seeing as ubi wont let steam show the game for us yet (prolly the same way they held back far cry 3 on UK steam)

nevermind... bought the gold edition cd key on cjs... only thing is they kinda arsed it.. got two keys, one which turned out the be season pass for fc4... the second one.. LOLWUT.. a season pass key for ACU... so I have dlc for two games I don't actually own... well played, well played indeed

Just beat the 20th mission of the main campaign. Where the hell is Pagan? Only met him for a good 6-7 minutes in the beginning and from then on he just up and vanished. Confused I only hear his occasional remarks/rants over the radio (which are somewhat a bit seldom). I hope I don't see another 6-7 minutes of him in the end so that the game could just end right after that... Rolling Eyes

I thought FC3 was far more repetitive. With this one, it feels like the world is more alive (with randmon encounters and such) and there are different ways to scale up the bell towers (landing gyrocopters on them ftw). Even assaulting outposts and botching them and having the royal army shell you out with mortar fire and trying to flank you. Idk, I'm having much more fun with this one than 3 (Plus co-op is still much better than in 3)

What I really don't care for though is the linear missions. I don't always succeed on the first try. But other than animal attacks, there are far fewer QTEs.

Can someone please confirm how to get the FOV slider to show up? I got some RG Mechanics repack and it's V1.0.1 version I think. Should I update to Skidrow's 1.03 and then to RELOADED's 1.04?

Me too. It gets boring fast. And that DJ on rebel radio, couldn't they record more of him. Come on every time I hear the same thing on and on again I want to crash on the nearest rhino.

Just finished. Endings hold very nice twists but overall the story is way too underdeveloped, considering we've got a civil war like FC2 (which also sucked big time in this aspect). FC3 had better pacing and exploited it's potential a lot more.

Playing this felt more like work than entertainment for roughly half of the time and there's tons more sidequests out there I haven't even touched. I'd say it's worth playing even if avoiding the repetitive stuff to cut time and getting to the more meaningful parts faster.

Also what's the deal with the helicopter and the AI? I liberated half the outposts flying it some 100 meters above the base and pouring grenades from my one handed launcher and only got detected if I descended low. I'm literally pounding them from above their heads and they're shouting lines like: "Spread out and search!" and "He must be hiding around here somewhere" Laughing

Found the initial 1.4.0 FC64.dll file.

Here's a comparison of the fur quality although do note that it's a bit buggy (Which is probably why it was removed.) and it might look different on actual CUDA compatible hardware. Smile

EDIT: Yak

Yeah that's what I'm used to seeing as well, not quite the "fuzz" shader that older games sometimes used but still a bit odd looking, I also added a yak comparison as I noticed that if I toggle the effect between on/off/simulated on a dead animal part of the fur disappears so I need to find a new wolf.

EDIT:

Well it's somewhat buggy still but not half-shaved.

I want that fur soo bad! The blurry mess we have now is just crap. and looking at the patch notes for 1.5 it STILL looks like we arent getting it, unless "fixed various graphic issues" includes Hairworks.

I must have missed it, will have to search the thread now to see if I can find that post. (Yours?)

That file instead of the current one but back that one up in case you get other bugs, shadows seem to glitch easily for example.

I must have completely forgotten about it but I don't think I ever had the first version of patch 1.4.0 before, I just searched around a bit now and found a link to the file on Cs.rin.ru

Wolf vs black wolf (Black wolf does not get the fur enhancement for some reason.)

Destroyed Yumas fortress, and just keep rushing doing the main missions now.
I am very sad, that this game gets more boring the longer it lasts Sad
Pagan Min gets shown much too little. And those missions where you are on drugs get tedious too
And the unskippable cutscenes too

So this patch screwed up the ability to launch from Steam if you purchased it from Ubisoft, possibly due to the "-skipintro" flag at the end of the exe. I can no longer get this game to run from Steam as a "non-Steam" add.

Features Include:

* Does not alter your official 1.4.0 patch! Mod files have been moved to the smaller patch_hd.dat & patch_hd.fat files. This results in a much smaller download and a more stable mod for you. Be sure to back up your existing patch_hd.dat & patch_hd.fat files.

* Incorporates my attachments mod which restores many attachments to many of the weapons in FC4.

* Removed mouse acceleration (credit to Redditor Cr1N for discovering this! http://www.reddit.com/r/farcry/comments/2n5w68/far_cry_4_mouse_fix_tested_on_103/ )

* Removed Intro videos since Ubi broke/removed support for -skipintro. I will restore these if Ubi fixes that.

* Days and nights last approximately twice as long. You can still use the bed in any safe house to change the time.

* First pass at reducing the amount of Eagle attacks. Let me know if you think it's helping. \o/ EAGLE!!

* New Additional Keyboard Commands - Reload: Press RELOAD to reload weapon. Press and hold RELOAD to bring up the Weapon Selection Wheel. This is like it was in FC3. You can still press or press and hold 1-4 to select weapons or bring up weapons wheel.

* New Additional Keyboard Commands - Heal: Press HEAL to use syringe or manually healing (no these cannot be separated yet). Press and hold HEAL to bring up Syringe Crafting Wheel. To craft a syringe select syringe and press LMB. To use a syringe select it and press E and then release Q.
New Additional Keyboard Commands - Cycle Special Arrows: Press Y to cycle special arrows. Press and hold Y to equip repair torch (this is a little temperamental still trying to work the kinks out - note you can always approach a broken vehicle and be prompted to use E to pull out your torch).

* New Additional Keyboard Commands - L button brings up skill page. I had also added I for Inventry, J for Journal, P for Progress etc. but ANOTHER Ubi bug is preventing any of those keys (and several others on the right side of the keyboard) from functioning when assigned in keybindings. Great Caesar's ghost Ubi can you fix some of this please!?

* Adjusted Item Costs. Purchase costs in easy difficulty are the same (x1). Purchase costs in normal difficulty are double (x2) and purchase costs in hard are triple (x3). Selling costs remain unchanged.

* No more free weapons from towers. You have to pay for them (or find them on enemy bodies). Several weapons cannot be purchased until you complete story missions or do specific activities. Removed Bell Tower popups telling you that you earned free weapons.

* No more seeing enemies through walls. You can still tag them with icons over their heads if you leave weapons tagging on. You can still see them on the minimap if you leave the minimap on.

* REQUIRED BY MINISTRY OF TRUTH - New handbook image for Pagan Min. (The bloody pen image while funny isn't very appropriate for a handbook written by his propaganda machine).

* Removed pins from world map for discovered locations. This does not affect the undiscovered question marks (?). My OCD was going overtime at the dozens of pin marks on the world map that I in all likelihood will never visit again. NOTE: This doesn't affect mission locations, outposts, fortresses, major points of interest, etc. but if you absolutely must find a specific place you can slowly mouse over the area where it should be and it will still popup a notation for you of the locations name and offer to place a waypoint there. Basically the icons are still there, they are just blank.

* Removed objective arrows that show in your first person HUD. These are annoying and Ubi's option to turn them off is broken. I'll restore them when/if Ubi fixes the option to turn them off.

* Now with 100% more boobies! -> Removed body paint from the Arena guards... "upper torso" area

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
