yes its the original flash guy, i think i said that earlier... though i think its more a cameo 'wink' casting, rather than a plot point...
as for the question i dont know if its canon, but this was addressed in the (rather cool) animated flashpoint paradox film?
 Spoiler: | it was basically that yellow reverse flash dude, went back in time and killed her...
you see him at the end of ep6... its possible it might even by the professor dude who is helping flash, but hes stuck in the present? |
im not a comic nut, so i dont really know the stories or the characters, so thats just a guess.

I think... it's gonna go a little bit different 
| Spoiler: | I think both Wells and the yellow guy travelled from the future. But... I think Wells might actually be future Flash himself, older and somehow broken - devoid of the "light" they so often speak of. I think something happened in the future and both of them traveled back, though possibly to different times. That's why the "newspapers" he checks from time to time show Flash's disspearence and that's why the show's creators make a point of highliting Barry's intelligence and sicentific roots. Wells might be manipulating events so they end up the right way - and so he - or rather Barry - is stronger than he was "the first time it happened". They probably fought over Barry's mother, but Flash (Wells) lost. Wells might have lost his powers too, or maybe he still has them - he might have been the one in yellow outfit, trying to keep Joe out of it all.
Eddie's probably Reverse Flash, Profesor Zoom (as stupid a name as that is) - the whole conflict between them is certainly over Iris (so very CW-like  ). Maybe Barry got the girl, or maybe she died and Eddie blames Barry for it. I don't know. That's why Eddie wasn't hurt by the yellow guy.
That's how i see it right now, more or less. |
BTW, I'm liking the show way more than Arrow now. It's not so self-cnoscious and overly serious. I thought it would be a bad thing, but I was wrong. The lighter and less realistic tone works better with typical CW writing - at least it doesn't push me to treat it seriously (as Arrow sometimes tried to). There are still some weak points (writing, acting at times, Flash's derpy team - esspecially Cisco), but the overall storyline is actually pretty interesting and the action is entertaining too. I also like how they actually show his growth and steady improvement.

It does feel that way. Though they went way too far to keep their secret identities lol

So if dw is smbdy else then rf would call him smthng else
The lady knows who dw is
Rf and dw either are og. F and rf or they are working together
Mc is a dumping ground for future runaways
Dw is indeed trying to maintain the timeline
Rf should be played by all different actors so that no one can guess from the jawline... Or just look at imdb cast 
Next episode is the new year...

i think that arrow is the better production (has better action, better actors and better acting, and the plot seems to be a bit more creative with the intertwining of his past, and having some degree of character development), BUT... heres the big but... flash is just a more joyous and more fun show. arrow is just too grim and 'drama'ish' for its own good, where as flash is just dumb goofy fun.

I think what they are showing on TV is pretty close to the comics (I haven't read them, but going through WIKI it seems there are a lot of similarities). This episode was very nice, probably the best so far. Yes, it has a little drama here and there, but well, its CW and most series have this 'mandatory' drama in it. I usually don't pay too much attention to it, as long as it isn't too long.

kinda why it like it more than arrow to be honest. its shit, but it KNOWS its shit. it doesnt try to do too much of that shitty drama arrow does... its just madcap silliness, and it revels in it. its great.

last ep was fucking hilarious
mirror... backed with silver nitrate! the flashes created multiple exposures, but i can seperate them... like pictures... and then.. you know, just because that shit was so easy, i turned the images into 3d because aint' no thang...
magic science... gotta love it 
i bet the scriptwriters dont even know which way around you're supposed to hold a magnifying glass. they just think if they can use enough words they found on wikipedia, itd be enough to pass scrutiny. I cant wait for them to use a GUI to hack into the internets megahertz to decrypt the cpu.
