The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
According to Justin Bullard, producer of Triad Wars, the development studio decided to create this game because it wanted to expand on its universe and offer something to all of its fans. And contrary to initial reports, Triad Wars is not the next part of the Sleeping Dogs franchise. Instead, Triad Wars is an expansion of Sleeping Dogs.
“Triad Wars is an expansion to the Sleeping Dogs universe – it’s a universe that we love and are extremely proud of. This game gives us the opportunity to do something new and exciting. There were a lot of factors that went into choosing to do Triad Wars. Mostly it came down to being overwhelmed by the positive reception to Sleeping Dogs and really wanting to continue to expand that universe.”
While Triad Wars was originally described as a PC-only online game, United Front Games confirmed that it will be a Free-To-Play game in which you will play with other players asynchronously. This basically means that everyone plays on one server but since it’s asynchronous you’ll be competing against a smaller set of players at any one time.
But what about Sleeping Dogs 2? After all, that’s what most of its fans have been waiting for. As Justin Bullard claimed, United Front Games wants to continue to expand Sleeping Dogs’ universe. The fact that Triad Wars is coming to PC does not exclude a sequel to Sleeping Dogs.
When a fan asked United Front Games about the sequel of Sleeping Dogs, this is what Justin Bullard replied:
“Nothing to share on that right now, but we will take every opportunity to explore this universe.”
Triad Wars is a response to Freemium games in that it's free but buy virtual hats and make us rich. But will most likely fail.
Stop trying to make MMOs guys. WoW is the only thing that anyone will need for the next 10 years. Spend resources on making an awesome SP game instead. Sleeping Dogs was great, but the story felt like it was missing tons of content just jumping around to things I've never heard of. Winston's getting married? Wait he has a girlfriend? Wait he's giving me the bro take care of the family talk after just a handful of missions for him? HUWAAAAAAT?
I just tried it and man...this is false advertising, and one of the worst kind.
Let me explain and be as clear as possible about this...this game is NOT ONLINE, it is a single player with online leaderboards..
They are hoping you just buy cosmetic stuff, wich you cant really show to anyone, cause you never see anyone head to head or just roaming around, this is crazy, if this wasnt f2p everyone would be bashing it for sure ahah
I just hope they really are just checking out if theres interest in a sequel, i really loved SD, the graphics, the story, the gameplay, the atmosphere, it had a small area and was a small game all in all but i really liked it, it was also the closest thing i got to a new shenmue, my all time favourite game.
Regardless of the structure that they're adopting, it still doesn't make much sense if you ask me, because those who enjoyed Sleeping Dogs never asked for this. It's always a shame when a franchise with potential goes to waste.
Unless they're really doing it just to gather monies for a full-fledged sequel, in that case I'll allow it (but only in that case!)
