Apparently, all the bugs from the previous version are still there. They just repackaged it, added a couple of maps and buildings and slapped a new name on it.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
It's been kind of hard finding out what is in platinum, are there any actual bug fixes?
More buildings, that's it.
According to some of the fan forums there are some community fixes and things they've rolled in to it. I think a change they made lets people use a new version of 3dmax, I guess from the vague way I've seen people talking about it .
A new version of the popular Cities XL game, aptly named Cities XXL, has been announced by developers Focus Home. Details are slim, but they’ve revealed that the game will make use of multi-core CPUs to offer a “smooth FPS no matter the size and complexity”.
More information is promised over the coming weeks.
The announcement was made from the Cities XL’s Facebook:
“We're thrilled to announced the return of the world's largest city builder, filled to the brim with new features allowing you to expand the scope of the game further than any Cities XL game before it. Introducing: Cities XXL!
“Create and manage enormous cities on the latest version of the 'Cities' engine with multi-core support. With a smooth FPS no matter the size and complexity, there are no longer any limits on the richness and diversity of your sprawling metropolis. New features, buildings, and other details will be revealed over the coming weeks.”

First gameplay with UI shot ?
If yes seems like another reskin indeed.
Shouldn't this be out since yesterday ? It says Feb. 5th now ...
The more it goes the more I think one of these devs woke up a morning and saw Cities Skylines footage and then :
"Oh my god ! We must do something quick ! Let's release Cities doubehlXL"
I just remember (and will never forget) them laughing at my face when I asked for memory leak fix and multicore support for previous Cities:XL back then.
The answer was something like : "multicore support would involve a whole engine overhaul, this isn't a simple fix, plus multicore CPU are not widespreaded enough to care about."
Let's wait and see I guess, or see and wait for a -90% price glitch
