its like comparing a lambo diablo VT60 to a M3.... both good cars but one is a super car and one is a sports car...
come on, you can't compare a car that costs 100000+ to a 50 grand car that can outperform the super car easily after a few mods...
GT40 and GTR are NOT in the same league, ALTHOUGH GTR can kick it's ass, maybe not in top speed, but in most other areas.

I think it's only fair to compare the car buck for buck. Sure, a GT40 is a great car with an amazing performance, but how much do you have to pay for it? About $120 000, right?
A Nissan GT-R is substantially below $100 000, something like $80 000 to $90 000 unless I'm completely mistaken. So the question is: is it really fair to compare cars like that? You can scream that the Ford GT is the best car in the world, but the Koenigsegg will beat it hands down in just about anything but the price. 388 km/h on track is a bit more than the Ford can handle, let me tell you.
I think it would be more fair if you compared a stock Ford with a Nissan that had $30 000 of modifications, to put them both in the same price range. The same goes for comparing a Ford GT to, say, a Lamborghini Gallardo, which you should only do after you'd spent $80 000 on modifications to your Ford.
But you forget the most important thing - the Nissan Skyline GT-R looks so much cooler than a Ford GT.

And at the same time you cant compare a modified car to something that comes out standard.
BOTH have to be modified in the same regard to be worthy of camparing them.
A GTR with "afew mods" IS a modified car. End of it.

If a stock car costs $120 000 it should hold it's ground to any car that's been modified to that level, or it isn't worth the price. Then you're not paying for performance, but for the name.

Thats with alot of cars tho.
Lets just pick any Ferrari that would go for 300K for example.
If it didn't have the badge or been labeld Ferrari in anyway, it wouldn't go for $300K in the end.
Probably alot cheaper.

lol what have you been smoking? The only time its fair in any way to compare a super-car to a "common" street-car is when the street-car is modified TO REACH THE SUPER-CAR's LEVEL!!

From the trailer i saw it has heavy car and world damaging.

Ever heard the terms suspention , brakes , electronics , engine managment system , coilovers ... no ? these effect the cars handeling , control , because without control you can have a 1000 HP dodge charger 69' that flys but any slight steer of the wheel you lose control , any turn above 60 MPH and the car flips ... american cars are all curb POWER , and power is nothing without control .
Yes they also make the best cheap crap cars , but for the ones that can afford it , japanese super cars are the best on the planet if you wanna race em on the track .
you watch WRC ? thats rally , 80% of the cars are japanese , not SINGLE , not SINGLE car is on the WRC , why ? they dont ever meet the fucking minimum requirments .
subaru , mitsubishi etc etc ... are rally champions , sure there are french and german cars but japanese know better , japan is serious when it comes about cars , and they are the worlds drifters and racers .
american car sports ? some big ass car with a MASSIVE engine is " RACING " through a stright line ... wow ... amazing to look at -_- ...or some other GIANT ASS engine that pushes some big ass thing on the dirt ... etc etc ... getting the picture ?
So again i say , win against any japanese super car the guys mentioned above ON THE TRACK then come here and brag .
In fact try to beat a mitsubishi evo 8 MR FQ400 with ANY american muscle ever made , you would lose badly , that car can take turns at 180 MPH and stick to the road like a blood sucking leech - thats smart enginering , thats somthing to be proud off . not how big your damm engine is ... fact is it has only 2000 CC engine and it pulls over 400 horse power - that is a technological breakthrough .

your basic "godlike" GT40 has 380 horsepower , with a massive ( of course ) 4.7 liter engine , a stock evo 8 has 275 horsepower on a 2.0 liter engine , thats a 2 times smaller engine then the GT40's ... in fact you can buy a small turbo replacment on the STOCK engine ( withtout changing a damm thing ) to make it 390 HP ...
Besides a GT40 is a RACE CAR while a evo is a 4 door SEDAN , the gt40 wights less then a ton , 910 kg in fact , its simple a engine on wheels ... remove rear sets , 2 doors etc etc to make an evo that wights the same ... and the evo would smoke the GT's ass so bad you would think about nuclear weapons v.s sticks and rocks .

Exactly. The only thing taht comes close to the Mitsubishi Evo's amazing handling would probably be the Lotus Elite, because that car is IMPOSSIBLE to flip.
But I still like the Subaru Impreza WRX the most.

First of all my english is pretty good , exuse me if i made a couple of mistakes in a 500 word reply .
Second - no i dont , as far goes exterior american cars hasnt changed since the 50's .
Today jap imports look hot , take example from mazda 6 and the like .
im not even talking about supra , RX-8 and the new 2006 skyline .
