An open-world Space Survival Simulation for PC and Mac built in Unreal 4 that features an original score from Jack Wall.
Take the role of Captain as you explore a massive solar system in search of a new home for humanity. Outfit your ship, hand pick your crew and set off on a journey where you must scavenge resources, shelter civilians and outrun a hostile alien force in order to survive.
Your ship, the Ark 13, is the last to leave our besieged planet and you are at the helm. But before you set out, some decisions must be made: Which modules will you choose to take with you and who will manufacture them? What resources will fill your limited cargo holds and which crew members will you take under your wing?
Once in flight, your responsibilities as Captain will push your limits:
- Monitor the condition of your crew, civilians and modules
- Ensure a steady flow of resources for your Modules
- Explore derelict ships and dangerous planets with Landing Parties
- Engage aliens of all types in Trade and Combat
- Navigate a solar system filled with celestial bodies, asteroids and mines
- Evade a pursuing enemy determined to destroy you
The game will retail between $20-25 on Steam at launch.

We've been involved in the Kickstarter community for several years now, so when it became clear that we required additional funds to complete this project we knew just where to turn. The reality is that we simply can't provide the high level of polish, quality audio and compelling score this game demands with our existing resources. Though we could potentially turn to publishers to fill this void, we'd much rather deal directly with gamers like you who can help shape the experience into something truly special!
Apparently they've been in heavy development for a while and they'll actually be finished this year, aiming for a July 2015 release, as the Kickstarter is just being used to finalise development and hire Jack Wall for the soundtrack. On the whole, it looks and sounds like it could be a friggin' blast, mixing indie darlings FTL and Out There. I guess we'll find out later
Yup, $35k in a single night. That's certainly very hopeful

ain't there another captain sim coming out?
Yeah, but I can't remember the name!
Aye, same here.. I know the game but I can't remember the name. There's *also* another awesome (well, to me) space/action game coming out but I can't remember that name either. It looks really fun and was originally an XBLA title. Bah, I'll remember it later.
I think the other game was more of a strategy game, but you controlled the ships from your bridge, from a battleship like table, and you could see the action outside from the windows of your ship!

Well the experience is largely the opposite for me and since you listed Project Cars which isn't a space game, I'll add the others;
Akaneiro Demon Hunters ☑
Among the Sleep ☑
Boot Hill Heroes ☑
Citizens of Earth (not "final" until 20th of this month but I played the beta and LOVED it so ☑)
Cognition - Erica Reed ☑
Consortium ☑
Cosmic Star Heroine (okay this is a cheat, it's not out until sometime this year, most likely Q1 but possibly Q2, but still... it's Zeboyd! There hasn't been a Zeboyd game I didn't love ☑)
Data Hacker series ☑
Dead State ☑
Dex (not finished yet but the 6 hour beta "slice" I played was fantastic ☑)
Divinity Original Sin ☑
Edge of Space.... looks like it could be fun, once the damned thing is finished.
Eterium ☑
FTL ☑
Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams ☑
Grim Dawn ☑
Infinite Space III ☑
Kentucky Route Zero ☑
Knock Knock ☑
Legend of Dungeon .....is okay.. too brutal for my tastes though.
Lifeless Planet ☑
Lords of Xulima ☑
Mercenary Kings ☑
Party of Sin ☑
Pier Solar HD .........eghhh, I *really* want to love this game, but the loud and irritating fucking BEEP after every message makes me grind my teeth into stubs.
Resonance ☑
Rebuild: Gangs of Deadsville ☑
Saturday Morning RPG ☑
Shadowrun Online..... has potential...
Shadowrun Returns + Dragonfall ☑
Starlight Inception..... is okay...
StarDrive ☑
Strike Suit Zero ☑
The Banner Saga ☑
Two Brothers ☑
Tiny Barbarian ☑
Volgarr ☑
Valdis Story ☑
Wasteland 2 ☑
Xenonauts ☑
There are many others too, I'm just not into those ones There are also some hilarious failures too and I, for one, am getting really sick of the constant delays and mismanagement of time/funds where developers shit themselves mid development after realising what a great task they've taken on --- and yes, both Elite:SCANDALOUS and Star Shitizen have been massive disappointments
~edit~
I found the game I was thinking of! I'm not sure why I thought it was XBLA, but oh well. I'm really looking forward to this in a BIG way.. something about the style of combat and the feel of the game is caressing my WANT buttons.
This is very relative to my interests. Thank you for sharing.
Love FTL and would love to some form of multiplayer in it, or build around the idea of it. Just yesterday I was looking for something just like this and the only thing I found was Final Frontier Garrys Mod mod someone is currently working on. But this looks so much better right now, even if it doesn't have MP.
$86k funded It's time like this where I'm really conflicted, on the one hand I'm super happy that this got funded and I'm grateful for an upcoming epic-looking space game .. but on the other, I can't help but feel really bummed out for the developers. They took 11 days to raise $85k whereas HBS with their third trip to Kickstarter picks up $500k in less than 2 and there's 31 still to go. That must sting a bit for the devs of one KS who are barely scraping by.
But oh well, it got funded and that's what they wanted so yay's all round! \o/
Haha yeah, they're ok with that and that's what counts. I imagine skepticism is playing/played a role too, being a new team and all. Looks very promising, imma keep an eye on this, and my fingers crossed.
the little gameplay that there was it looks like a collection of shitty iphone games with production values
also, it's never a good sign when they have to actively hype shit in the pitch video
"total control!11", "shit you've never seen in a game before!!!111"
seriously?
