Unfortunately they changed it so the game is online only so that wouldn't work.

You could try to create another ticket but if you paid via a credit card then maybe it would give a quicker response if you initiated a chargeback via that or from your bank as to force them to act.
(If you have the email response from their support that might speed things up as well, I mean if they tried to ignore you again that would count as some type of fraud no?)

@ interactive

I'm having the same waiting time, no response from them when i ask for an update.

Just a long shot, I can never find the ticket when logging into zaonce. Try this link and log in.https://support.zaonce.net/

My ticket is still there from the 18th of November. My request was for a partial refund and they still they won't give me a final answer.

Is there any point buying this game at the moment except for exploration and beautiful graphics ? I like storydriven games and looking at the reviews, Elite doesn't seem to have a story. Is this right ?
I'm afraid of buying this game and be bored after a few hours...

I would say play X3 if you want depth and story. The only thing Elite has going for it is mutliplayer eventually. Because right now group play is still not a thing.

not really to much to say (all things were posted and nothing really changed), personally i'm enjoying starport gemini 2 a lot more. so if you want to take a break from this, try gemini 2, it may be your cup of tea.

Good news for everyone who has the game and even better for the Beta testers.

Michael Brooks:

"Hi everyone,

As promised in an earlier post we want to provide more visibility on what we have planned for Elite: Dangerous over the coming months. We have some exciting times ahead and while I can’t reveal everything that’s coming we will provide regular updates regarding what we’re working on and what’s coming up. The plans for releases are being finalised now that the team is back from the holidays, but we will share these with you as we progress through the coming year.

Our first commitment is supporting the game with regular updates. This won’t just be the fixes and tweaking we’ve provided since release but will also add new features and content. Examples of this are Wings and associated multiplayer features, as well as the additional ships mentioned in recent newsletters. We’re proud of the fantastic game that we released before Christmas but intend to keep growing and developing it. To make this happen we’re expanding the team working on the game so that we can maintain a regular schedule of updates as well as working on paid expansions.

We’ll also be having beta test periods for these major updates and access to these will be open to players who already have beta access for the game. More details on this will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Regarding Elite: Dangerous on other platforms, as you know we have already been working on putting the native Mac version of the game together and as expected this should enter beta in about three months time. As the beta date is firmed up we’ll keep you updated.

Thanks!

Michael "

I'm sorry, but... what good news? So far it's just the same "we're working on the game! new content! fixes!" statement any and every developer issues a month after the game is released. I'm not seeing anything there that jumps out as "good news, everyone!" Neutral

i guess there wont be anything substantial for at least 9-10 months. I hope they dont run out of money. Why bother with a Mac version anyway?

Ive been playing it on and off since release, got my third ship. But there is really not much else to it, atm.

Its the prettiest space game ive played yet. Great sound and atmosphere, but the lack of real content just doesnt cut it for a 2014/2015 game (my opinion at least)

*ponders*

So, let me just get this right - we'll be beta testing a game that's already been released? And does he mean that previous testers only get to 'test' the new stuff, and not those who bought the game after release?

That is fucked up.

let me just get it right for u (if u feel dumb or pretend it to be). Whenever devs want to add major content to a game and before it reaches public server it gets tested on BETA server. Good example is D3. Before hitting every major patch they let u try in on PTR server for month or two. If u don't want to test it, u just wait for final product. Here in Elite is a little bit different matter - only players who paid for beta access +20 euros (or more) will be eligible to test new upcoming features. And IMHO it's fair deal cause whoever paid more for a game should get more benefits, right? So if u paid for beta access, then u will be able to test upcoming features that is if u want it ofc. If u just bought a game on launch date u will just have to wait for a major content hitting live servers.

Another "expert" at talking a lot and saying basicly nothing. Smile

Too bad, I was really thinking about getting this game, hoping for future implementations that would make the game "complete".

It would have been better to say nothing instead of throwing at us this shallow "press(?)" release.

As English is not my first language, maybe I have not expressed myself correctly, what I meant is that the news is good for those who own the game, and perhaps those who like playing it in the way it is today . I think that even those who do not like the game could now be happy because with this news, the game might be improved with new contents that not only fix problems.

Apart from that, I like the game in the way it is today, where even having problems and needing improvements and depth in some contents. I´m playing since from the beta premium and followed the FD's ability to make changes and improvements over that time. Basically today after the launch we have those people who fit in my condition placed above and others who do not like the game for their own reasons.

If you still have the OR DK2, then play this game rises to a higher level and for a really different experience than everything that you can imagine. It is the only game currently providing this kind of enjoyable experience, IMO.

I´m sorry too, mainly because I do not know if you have the game or even have the OR DK2, and so maybe do you not will understand this news as good news.

But it's just my opinion. others who have the game can really not like this news.Interesting is to see people who do not have the game and never played and are posting opinions about something they have never experienced. Not that this is your case

I bought it 2 days ago, and i havent regret it a bit, iam completely hooked to this game, for people that really need a story to be presented to them, you will be disapointed, but if you like to see your own story unfold, and see events taking place because of player actions, then you might love this game. Flying around space has never been this fun honestly, the sound the combat the flying of the ships is top notch, the ground is layed out for what can become a true cult game in the future, because i dont deny that more stuff has to be added, but for what it is right now, its already worth to play and start making a fortune in this galaxy, and hope for big things later on Smile

Same here. Game is pretty enjoyable for the moment.

Did some bounty hunting earlier today and could collect 400k from the empire faction when i got shot down trying to reach their stations over 40 jumps away Sad

Had to take a loan to get my ship back Laughing

Trying to find a good independent anarchy system with extractors but they are all so far away. This map is pretty insane

Empty again Sad

Don't get cocky and let the sheer dislike for something blind you, man. It means beta testing the new updates in a separate server before they get released. I think almost every recent online game does that ( Example: WoW, LoL, etc.). And it's fair enough to open it for beta access buyers who paid double the price than the new buyers. At least they don't make some fee for it to the newcomers tho they may do it in the future months when they don't have enough testers. Or they would make it free to register.

Whatever. I'm not going to try and argue the case for testing an unfinished game after release. At least D3 and BF4 are considered finished.

Nobody says the game is finished. Even the maddest fanboys will agree. Yes, Frontier were real scumbags removing the promised offline mode and releasing 1.0 at this state before Christmas and did that prolly for dirty profit. But at least they are still working on and improving it. Maybe they do this for now only to fool the community even further. But let's be honest- if after 1 year this game is still nearly same as now then D. Braben and co. will never fool anyone anymore and E: D will become a nightmare for them.

X-Rebirth was also very much unfinished at release but it improved a lot for the past year and now it's a lot better and pleasent game.

The thing that bothers me about this "good news!" and FDEVs "future plans" is how they're focusing on paid expansions. It's fairly obvious that the game, as it is now, is what they intended to sell and anything coming after this - fixes/patches notwithstanding - is all going to be "extra content!" that you have to pay for in order to access. That's what annoys me.

Quote:
"Please don't worry, we're going to continue working on the game for the foreseeable future! You'll have Planetary Landings! (DLC required...), Station Exploration! (DLC required...), New Customisable Pilots! (DLC required...) and Additional Starships! (DLC required...)"

etc etc. All the things they're talking about adding aren't going to be of any use to existing customers until they fork out for expansion packs.
