cybtropic.... read what i posted m8 on how to get it to work. Do what you did but then right click the daemon tools and virtualcdhide icons in ur sys tray and close them... then run game.

If you are using Virtual Cd Hide, and getting security errors, run the game in Win2k compatibility mode.
    1. Right click on games shortcut
    2. Click Compatibility tab
    3. Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode" box
    4. Select Windows 2000 form drop down menu

Not bad, not bad at all. I played last night and it was fun! I really enjoyed being the the commander. His rapid fire gun was kick ass. Did anyone notice that the Heavy Trooper loads his rocket A LOT slower now. Not earth shattering but you have to be more careful. You can change the ticket count which is great! Not as high as I wanted to though, 500. Oh well, if it can be set to 500 then you have to be able to tweak an ini or something to get it to 2000. I remember Battle For Middle Earth started you out at a ridiculous 200. I was able to use a BIG editor and change that to 800. Any higher the game crawled. I had some issues getting it to run. But I used A120 to mount and then SR7 Stop and it worked fine. The textures looked good and the weapon models looked a lot better than BFront1. The animation was a lot better and the new droid looked like Deathlok which was cool. I only played the Deathstar map so I will have to give it more of a run through tonight.

Its not bad, though I find it difficult. On Felucia its hard to see the drones in all the vegitation, my troops always get in the way. It seems they do most the work in the begining, die and leave the rest to me Sad .

We need some good cheats for this.

WTF the graphics are even worse now than in the first game? What are those ugly "high" resolution textures doing in PC game? Almost 2 gb of stupid blurry "movies" thanx God you can skip them. The game is fun but graphically it looks like shit.

Hmm, I thought the textures looked great. Especially the model player textures. They are not up to Quake 4 or FEAR but this is a large MP game. If they put textures in this game like FEAR you wouldn't be able to have as many players on a map. I must say UT2004 and Epic do a very good job with their engines and texture detail. Obviously the BFront engine isn't as good as Epic's. When BFront1 came out I was very disappointed in the textures. Especially the muddy weapon models. I played the Death Star level in BFrontII and thought it looked great. I definitely thought this was an upgrade from BFront1.

yeah i hated the first one, cause it was obvious they made it for console first, i mean some of the maps that had ships on it had like a 3 foot flight area. The space battles are freaking awsome, loving playing the ones from the old republic. Anyone get to be a jedi or jedi starfighter in the space battles yet? Also thought it was freaking sweet on Hoth being vader with ATATs walking behind me lol, max pwnage. First one was stupid, console POS but they have done a great job on this one! Cant wait to try MP and see how the netcode is.

If you're going to get this game to play, buy it. Single player is unrewarding and the AI generally are retarded. I beat the single player and am probably going to uninstall it from my HD now until I buy it.

This game is all about multiplayer

Yeah it kind of has a story. It ended at the battle of hoth, you only play as the imperials, no CIS, no Alliance. The "story" revolves around the 501st, which is a clone trooper regiment.

That was probably the biggest disappointment. Granted dont get me wrong, it's worth playing through single player once, but after that the game is multiplayer or it collects dust on the shelf with so many other shallow single player games. Unless you buy it you cant play multiplayer, unless some hack comes out someday and someone runs a mock gamespy (not likely).

If you want any kind of longevity with this game, go buy it. Otherwise it's a play once and deleter.

I don't like it. It's multi only, so downloaded copy is quite worthless. It really sucks in SP - I kill a droid and another one just SPAWNS in front of my eyes. Graphics does not look good, maybe the models are OK, but the rest - crap. As SP game the Republic Commando is much, much better.

I can't tell you the key, but I can tell you this trick - Kerio Personal Firewall allows you to block execution of any program. It asks, whether you want to execute *.exe files and so on. Battfront asks to execute keyentry.exe or smth like that. Normally it justs runs, but Kerio asks, if you want to allow or block it. Just block, and the instalation continues without the key. it works also with other games - especially EA games and Lucasarts, maybe others. Tried it myself with Pacific Assault and Republic Commando.

Did anyone notice that opponents forces are unlimited.
Troopers have 40,50 sometimes 99 units... acording to their AI could be counted as 10-12 units.
AI is so annoying - they are helpfull only in open area battles - in levels with a lot of carnage in small corridors they are just running and dying no co-operation in getting mission's assignemnts done.
Only way to finish a level is a Rambo style and sometimes even Rambo can not win with infinite ammount of enemies Sad
Many times in some last ltevels my kill/death ratio was even 25:1 and even then I couldnt finish missions alone :/ coz rest of squad were on the respawn point and I have to go to next mission point alone!!!
This game definitely needs a patching- in fist SW BF opponents got limited amount of soldiers and chances were similar.
