John Wick 3/10
dafuq was this? Seems like a super lame max payne-like game/or comic book brought to the big screen. 1 point for every cool action scene and that's it, everything else was pretty disappointing and pointless.

NO U since you (kinda) implied that this was better than the raid 2 (  ) on the other thread. This isn't last year's best action movie by a long shot.
I was really expecting something different and better from this too

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.
After 5 minutes I thought... wasn't this made for young adults? Which followed with a thought of: this is written for 7 year olds. It's more transparent than ethyl tetra fluoro ethylene ffs.
I hate myself for watching this to the end. Every time something (in their eyes) noteworthy happened I cringed so hard that I felt my left and yes even my right testicle go in to my stomach.
So why give it a 4/10 well every time they were doing those jumps I thought a talentless smug face actor would fall to his/her dead... so it was entertaining... yet quite disappointing in the end. It needed more smug face smashing to get a 5.
So... avoid at all costs.

John Wick - 7/10
Flashy, noisy and stylish, but not in a bad way. I very much enjoyed the ride along with Keanu throughout this traditional over-the-top revenge movie that doesn't take itself too seriously.
Like some sort of glitter Hotline Max crossover, though I would have liked more surprises plot-wise, since the movie never really abandons the familiar territory and clichès, sadly.
Still, a competent work when it comes to action scenes and direction. And acting also, Keanu even showed some genuine emotions at some point!

John Wick - 6/10
Can't say I get what the fuss was all about. The movie's got a couple of good action scenes (and a couple of bad ones), but it's nowhere near Raid and - as far as only action scenes go - nowhere near Raid 2 either (the silly factor was a bit too heavy in Raid 2, IMO - but the action was brilliant).
JW is kinda like a big screen version of Banshee (the tv show) - it's got almost no substance, but makes up for it with memorable (if overdone) characters, enjoyable action and good style and presentation. But, the funny thing is - Banshee does ALL of that better. And it's got a lot more ass too
Also, IMO, Keanu doesn't have enough physical presence and screen charisma to carry a role like that. As hard as the movie tried to make him so, I just didn't find him intmidating and some of the scenes, particulary the h2h ones, felt rather weak.
Still, it was an enjoyable flick in its own right.

The Judge 8/10
Solid, great performance by the Roberts Duval and Jr
My only grip was like everything was pieced like dominoes in the story, every detail fitted perfectly around the main protagonist, to the point of making some of the supporting roles caricatures. A little more grey and subtitle scenes would have made it a lot better.
should be a 7 but every movie with Vera Farmiga gets a free point.

I've had the movie sitting in my huge backlog for years and never got around watching it, but I'm glad I did now. A completely, utterly fucked up experience, which is exactly what I wanted/expected.
It's genial in its own psychoweirdness, Tom Hardy was really really good.  If you don't mind seeing his floating penis for 10 minutes, it's recommended
