Yes, that's what I meant. Who defended GTA4? Other than idiots that do not belong on PC gaming (the idiot 30fps motionblur "it's all about gameplay grafix no matter" assholes), who defended it? Everyone knows it was a bad port. Some people might have enjoyed it despite that, but it does not mean they defended it. |

I didn't defend it, but I will admit did enjoy it played the crap out of it with a friend in MP from release day, maybe I didn't get the extent of issues everyone else did. but also at the time I had 2 9800gt2 sli and a beast CPU for the time.
If I get the fun out of this I did for $60, it's worth it. I spend that much on a night out doing stupid shit at a bar for a 4-5 hours with friends.
I (personally) dont see the big deal. a 2 month delay...all the lost money to ghost kickstarter games, crap sequels from other companies, people driving a series down the drain with DLC packs or making each version of the series more hurp durp than the last trying to cash in on casual gamers...a delay on a game that at least isn't any of those isnt a big deal to me.
It seems to come down to:
is it a good game? yes
is it true to the series? yes
is it expanding on the series? yes
is it a solid sequel? yes
did they stay away from dumbing it down for casuals? yes
is it coming out without 50 mini-DLCs on day one? yes
is it coming out when you wanted it to? NO BOYCOTT THEM!

It's funny how many people do exactly what I do; piss and moan about shitty developers fucking over the "Master Race, lolz" all the time, except when it comes to a company they like, or a game they like. Then suddenly everything is forgiven, shutupandtakemymoney.jpg and "stop whining Sabin" Let's see how long before the next Not-Grand-Theft-Auto game gets delayed, or comes out buggy, or releases on consoles months/years before PC, I wonder if people will stay as forgiving.

You're somehow implying that regardless of what day it comes out, the day after it comes out people will enjoy it less because of the delay.
Just difference of opinion is all  Dont down you for not getting it I can see your reasoning to some degree. Just don't agree with it myself. Cutting off your nose to spite your face does no good.
And I've never whined about a delay myself. I might go 'well that sucks" and move on with my life until it does come out.
For example I'm a huge supreme commander nut. SC2 SUCKED...it was delayed and delayed and then released and was a horrible game. But it wasn't life ending, or rage on a forums about. I quietly installed it..played it 30 minutes. uninstalled it..and watched with skepticism as they made planetary annihilation. and realized it would suck too. and didn't buy it.
I know not many have the same opinion I do..I didnt even when I was younger. maybe my old age and life has calmed me down and mellowed me out. Of all the things in games now that make them rage and boycott worthy in the last 5 years..waiting for a game isn't one of them to me.

You misunderstand me. I have no intention of cutting off my nose to spite my face, I have no intention of boycotting the game.
I have every intention of never putting a penny into Rockstar's pockets. I will absolutely download the game regardless but my piracy won't stop me from being pissed at a decade's worth of shitty treatment.

What villain? All I am saying is, it is understandable why this game is being bought. There is no real alternative to what is offered, and the game itself is good. Company policy and bullshit have nothing to do with the game itself, and some people just don't care. Shit, probably a lot of people probably bought the console version twice and will buy the PC version now for the third time.
You are acting like the game is bad and makes no sense to buy it, when this is not the case.
