Lol. This game is pretty good contestant for WarZ (now Infestation: Survivor Stories) with negative reviews on the web. Is it really that bad or just just too many people are butthurt for not able to play it for the first 10 mins of release?
I don't own the game but most of the negative reviews I've read have been in relation to the buying air crate drops for real money -> possibly get get weapon in it = P2W argument (which I'm neither acknowledging or denying since I don't own the game). I guess the DayZ "community" really REALLY hates P2W stuff, which they should.
its insanely exaggerated like most things on the internet these days when it comes to first world stuff like gaming.
First you get this very loud sound that last for about 2 minutes, of the airplane in flight, it also has blinking lights so you can follow it even at night, and then the crate drops for another minute with lights flashing, and then there is a huge smoke trail from the drop.
Anyone near the area has enough time to reach the drop zone and troll the p2w guy.

yep, air drop stuff is only 1 life, crates that unlock with keys offer permanent cosmetics only.
That "wet shiny ground" effect you pointed out several times during the first ten minutes or so of your video is not new. EverQuest 2 had that same rain effect, all the way back in 2004.

Well that looks horrible... but if they get it to run nice, touch it up later and get any form of P2W out of it... it could be a winner... lot of ifs tho and it is SOE.
So we'll see if they changed or if a new generation is ready to get screwed by them after the past few years of trying to lay low.
Everything else is absolutely tolerable for the time being and should be fixed easily.
Looking at all the reviews and comments out there it's a little hard to take yours serious.
I always wondered why a company like Sony needed early access to raise funds for a game. Why would customer money make a better game in this case? The pay2win model that they seem to have introduced at launch are even more reasons to assume this is a cheap money grabbing operation built on the Day Z hype.
had a quick first session before i had to go. runs great! looks great too(when set to medium=p).
found sticks made a bow all went well, just had some trouble finding water(was lost in some forest). No drinking from rivers in this one?
also since you cant rebind controls yet im having an issue switching to 3rd person. its set to mouse button 4, Ive set my buttons to custom binds long ago and cant for the live of me remember what mouse 4 is supposed to do/be. anyone tell me the standard function of that key so I can set it in setpoint pls=)?

T is the actual key for third person, its a bug.
patch coming up now, slwing down thirst and hunger. if they continue patching at this rate, its gonna be sweet.
you need a water bottle to drink, but river water is dirty, you will lose hp.
