Awesome film. Hardy was magnificent
Have you seen this one http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2402105/ ? Any good? Its trailer reminded me of Bronson, well, not the trailer but the character Jude plays.. I haven't watched it yet though.

Yeah that one looks nice , but I haven't watched it either yet (it's in the movie folder though).
Another similar one (sort of) is Chopper, pretty good as well.

Haha I was actually surprised by the amount of explicitness, but it fits well. Just don't expect an actual plot or anything like that, it's a movie but also a non-movie. Odd to explain, very marmite though

John Wick 8/10
That was simply brilliant! I don't know why so many are complaining about it, it was like a comic made film and it was damned entertaining
Spoiler: | As for people LOLing about the reason for John's rampage, the death of his dog was harrowing as fuck. They didn't show much but the implications and out-of-focus strike was really brutal... and then the reveal that the dog didn't even die at first, but rather managed to crawl over to John and die next to him, was incredibly painful to watch. |
It was expertly done, it really was, because it made me *really* hate the antagonists and wish for their particularly painful deaths.

The Theory of Everything. 8.5/10
Simply.. fantastic!
It will become clear why both the movie and the lead actor are up for Oscar.

just finished the last hobbit movie, and honestly....
i just came away disappointed. not with the film mostly, but just with the franchise as a whole. I loved the lord of the rings films, and as a new zealander, dwarven blood runs through my veins, but there was just something about this latest trilogy that just left me so cold... it just disappointed me as a whole and theres just not one single thing i can point to as a cause, it just didnt 'hit' me on any emotional level for some reason.
as for this film, it felt rushed. it really needs the extended version. the ending felt rushed and without emotion, and what the FUCK happened to cgi Billy Connolly in the end?!

3 overly boring and way too long movies need an extended... why?
My fiancee has the book here and when I saw how little there was I already started bitching: WTF are they going to do, double the scenery shots that they made for LOTR.
(Yes, it was traumatizing for someone who doesn't even like the whole LOTR trilogy. )

it needs an extended because for what they tried to do with the third film, it DEFINITELY felt rushed, especially the final act.

extend the Milking ? why indeed?
The hobbit should have been one movie. They extend some scenes, recycled some characters invented others and Ended with a disjointed story with no solid protagonist or story arc.
The book is about the adventure of one hobbit all the rest is in the background, to be fleshed out decades after in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Yet they went all over the place with Dwarfs, Elfs and Orks all rammed in.
The comic relief character in the last movie is the pinnacle, beyond retarded, wtf was that.

Birdman 7.5/10
If you love the New York theater scene + struggling actors then WATCH! Quite liked this one.

A Walk Among Tombstones - 5/10 - colourless bad guys, sloooow set up, Neeson gets more boring with every movie he's doing. A shitty Se7en wannabee.
Lucy - 2/10 - What da fuck. One of the stupidest movies I have watched. Nothing made sense and the movie science is beyond anything I've seen to date. Apart from some good scenes, it was bad.

Lifeforce - 7/10
It was awesome bad flick. It had everything, vampires, space vampires, vampire zombies, bad FX, good FX, bad acting, terrible acting, fucking terrible ending, Patrick Stewart, Patrick Stewart kissing another man, BOOBS, BUTTS, a lot of BOOBS.

The Judge - 8.5/10
Brilliant. Best courtroom drama since... I don't know. Ages. Great cast, solid performances (it's nice to see RDJ getting out from under the Iron Man's shadow - and in style too, even though his witty character was a bit too much like Stark at times). It's over two hours long, but you don't really notice it - which serves as a testament to how much actual story is crammed into these 2 hours. Comes greatly recommended.

Automata - 7/10
Even with the flaws, quite poor action scenes and a slightly weak (as in, a tad too cheesy for my tastes ) second part, I really appreciated the effort, especially the solid science fiction-y presentation for a low budget movie, as well as the main concept.
Like some sort of Asimov meets Blade Runner, and with a Banderas in the middle who was okay for the role, well.. believable at least. I can perfectly understand the low scores though, it's indeed a rather polarizing movie (and perhaps a wasted opportunity, too).
