Yeah, it will be good to move from here. Fingers crossed that i won't eventually have a similar situation in the new apartment. I really can't stand noise, but i guess you all know that Laughing

I had a family with 2 small kids living in the apartment below, especially the noise early in the morning during the weekend was driving me insane. Now I have a quiet couple in their 50's living below me, fucking love it! Very Happy

My neighbours are so silent I was afraid to turn on the music, but at some point I said fuck it and bought a Teufel sound system. They say, they can't hear me. Either they are deaf or those walls are pretty much soundproof.

Either i'm the most sensitive person ever when it comes to noise, or i'm seriously unlucky. Granted, all in all it's much better here. But they have some serious issues. Guy upstairs work from home and keeps heelwalking to 03 +/- at nights, i did call him then and told him to quiet down 03.30, 2 weeks ago. His woman is also up late sometimes, but she has a tendence to walk around with shoes during week nights, and i'm sure we can all agree on that not being ok. And they also have a small kid which he failed to inform me about, but he only make noises for small amounts of time thus far, and not continuous noise for hours upon hours as the last appartment.

What ticked me off now was someone heelwalking with cement under their feet and the fucking cover on livingroom lamp fell off and made me almost jump through the roof since it startled me.

It's the same issue as last time almost, and i want to inform them properly, but having 3 or so issues brought up at the same time, for me sounds pretty whiny and annoying.

That's what bugs me the most... 2014 and most places don't have noise isolation. Since we are all pressed together in the same buildings more and more it will be a big issue. Sadly too little people seems to have the foresight to act upon it.

Same with these buildings from the 60's and 70's, they weren't build for home cinema systems, dj equipment or home parties. My neighbor told me I should live in a secluded area... because I was bitching that his dj'ing made the whole apartment vibrate. Shitty new gen, thinking it's normal to DJ in an apartment. Mad

You can talk about it, but knowing how most people are... they'll just do whatever the fuck they want these days. I'd say since this is more bearable, take the time to search for another place that will suit you better, be picky if you can endure this place longer.

I only got a elderly alcoholic guy living beneath me which is brilliant. During the day he cycles to a bar from 11 to 6, then he gets brought home wasted like fuck. About 30 minutes later i hear him puke and for the rest he is quiet and is probably knocked out. Since he is also pretty deaf i can pretty much make all the noise i want Smile

I keep hearing voices in my kitchen - through the air ducts of the kitchen hood. Voices, skype calling, music etc. Strange thing is I hear sounds from other flats almost better than the ones from my flatmates. And yes, heels are one of the most annoying.

Have to blow some steam. How terribly unlucky can one be with appartment choices?!

2 nights in a row the house owner and his woman have kept me up with their racket til 3am. I called him at work and said we have to find a solution to this, cause this is not working. I have to be up at 7 for work. He just replied that he won't change his habits for someone renting an appartment in his house, and this is something i'll have to endure, because he'd rather leave the appartment empty than being more quiet during the night. This was all too inconvenient for him, that too proud, selfish fuck of a person. He kept saying that it's not that often it happens, but when it happens then i have no say in him making all kinds of racket during the night. This is NOT legal. I was almost blowing up while talking to him, but kept my cool. I stated that the law dictates that he should make no noise which can be disturbing to others from hours 23:00 to 06:00 or 07:00, not sure which it was, and had to repeat 5 times that i don't demand him going to bed, just keep the noise down at least when he's walking over my damn head.

I'm working for free in hopes to get a paying job, and need to prove myself. And the last thing i need is being kept up to 03 am like this. Gotta love how i have zero rights in this besides finding another appartment or going to court, which i might end up losing and that would cost a fortune and a half, or i can call the cops who might or might not bother to show up and just tell him to be more quiet, and nothing more, which in the end will amount to nothing other than disdain towards me.

Yeah, they have to be quiet, but if they make noise it has to reach a certain point until any action can be taken. If they are just walking, there is nothing you can do, unless you are the owner of the house Razz I think you are annoyed by any noise atm and everything will upset you and of course you are not used to it.
IMO there will always be something you'll be hearing from upstairs, you won't get rid of it, so better get used to it or search for another place.

I know it sounds whiny to complain about noises such as walking, and that's how i might have thought about it myself if someone else did it. But you gotta understand that his workplace is right above my head, with gadgets all over. There's walking. And lots, and lots of it, and lots of it. He's on the heavy side, and i guess you can imagine how it sounds. But yesterday, what ticked me off the most was him walking down the stairs, and his girlfriend at the top of the stairs yelling shit to him. And this was during the night..

But you know, as he said himself, he had to get his laundry, and he's not going to change his habbits for someone renting..... At 2 AM!!!

Yeah, i know. This coversation i had with him left a shitty taste in my mouth. I don't think i want to live here anymore when he responds to serious issues with this kind of attitude. Problem though is finding a new appartment Razz

Sounds really like an excruciating odyssey...damn. So much patience is required, stay strong. Seems like finding reasonable, understanding and unselfish people is almost a mission impossible these days.

I often whine that I live in a place away from the civilized world, with unstable internet and chronic lack of services, but at least I can carry on with my life with nobody annoying me, it's a privilege that is often underlooked Razz. You'll find your peace (literally) too, don't give up!

Well, hopefully he was just annoyined by the critique, but will change his habbits on his own. I do wonder what the fuck he expected, i did tell him when signing that i left the previous appartment due to crazy amounts of noise. I guess selling comes before anything to some people.

At the very least he told me that if i find another appartment that i don't have to stay for 2 extra months after finding another appartment. So there is that!

And living like you do sounds like a dream. Except for the dsl connection. I would go crazy Razz

This house owner is a fucking cock of a person. He has a party going, and thats ok. But that damn sub is on max and i asked him if he could turn it down a notch. He became instantly hostile and said it was his house and if i dont like it i should leave. Hes half right at least. With our tense love atm it would be fun to call the police on him. Since he didnt warn me about the party then the party became somewhat illegal after 23pm.

Well, i ended up not calling the police also because they stopped the untzuntz music a little while after i posted. Just received an apopology from the house owner, lol... It was his birthday... He should have said that yesterday when i called and i might have said it was ok. All this is so easily avoided if only he could warn me beforehand and stop being so fucking rude. He sounds like some spoiled brat with his arguments.

Moved to a new apartment. This place is pretty nice. It's quiet here most of the time, and i can't hear footsteps or other common noise well, and that's a big bonus. The downside is that when the guy upstairs goes to the toilet i hear the *plops* and the drilling stream of piss Laughing Well, i've only head him shit once. It's fucking disgusting, but overall this place is pretty relaxing and nice!

Holy shit, this is rich! House owner kind of complained that i make too much noise. But we found out it's the fucking cupboards and such things that makes these noises he complains about. NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT, IT'S HIS OWN GOD DAMED FAULT FOR NOT INSULATING THIS APPARTMENT. When i make food the drawers are going to open, the cupboards are going to open, and the same goes for when i do the dishes. What the actual fuck.
