Finally got round to this, running at ultra settings and it has been OK so far.

Some minor, and I mean very minor FPS drops on the cut scenes, other than that it's been brilliant.

I think I'm only enjoying it due to the graphics and atmosphere, walking through the streets of Paris is amazing.

I'll see how long it takes me to get bored of it...

If I'm using the RELOADED release of Unity, should I get their Dead Kings release or was it nuked for good reason? If it was, how can I use the SKIDROW release of Dead Kings with the RELOADED release of Unity?

It was nuked because Skidrow claims DLC should be released FOR the version THEY released.
You can use RELOADED release, it works just fine.

Installed this game (skidrow version along with latest patch and Dead Kings). I get crashes all the time.

AC5.exe or whatever has stopped working. Is there a fix for this?

I've been trying to get into this again the last 1,5 hours or so, I can't seem to. It runs the same as before the Omega driver and the latest patch, so that's not my problem. I still do think this is the best AC game, it looks gorgeous and Paris is awesome, so that's not the problem either. Basically, I don't know what the damn problem is. Maybe I'm getting tired of these yearly releases now, I can't seem to enjoy it anymore. I admit there are little improvements here and there, but the story is a bit boring (not the character btw) and I can't seem to get in the flow. I'm actually repeating shit I have done in the previous games. Go up tower, sync, hunt loot for a moment, renovate building, chase thief, do SQ, do MQ, go up tower. I feel like a complete idiot while playing this game Sad

Meh I deleted it, it was the most boring AC title IMO. I think I was halfway through the MQ, it wasn't interesting. I can't believe a setting like Paris during the revolution could be made boring, Ubisoft succeeded. This is the first AC game I haven't finished. It al looks so gorgeous, but the rest sucks Sad This is a game I would've enjoyed years ago when I seemed to have endless time, but with games like Wasteland, Bound by Flame and Dark Souls staring at me, it's a complete waste of time :/

Recreation of Paris (not taking performance into account): priceless
Actual gameplay: stale and cheap.

6.5/10

This might be the last Ubi game I try, I'm really getting sick of this shit. I doubt I'll bother with FC4. They have perfected the "same shit, different skin" formula across all of their games.

AC 2 is a pretty good continuation and Black Flag experiments with a more open world design but it's more of a pirate game set in the AC universe.

Brotherhood and Revelations were pretty good in my opinion but it's best to have played AC 2 first and it might get a bit tedious playing through all three in a row although both add some new things to the game.
(Depends on what you think of Ezio too I suppose, you'll be following his entire life through those three games.)

AC 3 I didn't find to be that bad but I preferred Black Flag over it.

Unity is nice as well but requires serious hardware due to the focus on "Next-gen" and it also simplifies a few things like the controls while bringing the game a bit closer to the earlier installments although it's still pretty easy.
(But they improved the AI a bit or maybe just made the enemy types a bit more varied or diverse although for the higher-ranked guards I personally find it silly that ducking can avoid a point black pistol or rifle shot.)

(But since you can't just shoot them it forces you to change tactics a bit or attack them from behind which makes stealth more viable or interesting.)

EDIT: Oh and AC3, Black Flag and Unity simplifies the weapon selection a bit, you can't even use the hidden blade as a main weapon in Unity (And I miss the daggers.) though in Unity they bring back heavier weapons and longer reach weapons from AC: 2 and it's add-ons.
(You do get some other toys though like that silly blow dart pipe though it was pretty handy as were the rope arrows.)

I'd advise playing AC2, and possibly the expansions, if you don't want to play them all.

AC1 is a pretty damn good game to be skipped. So play them all if you have time.

Well AC maybe for the start of everything (and the ridiculous story), then AC2 was probably the best (i liked Brotherhood also, Revelations was a bit tedious for me). Hated AC3, since i found the setting to be really boring for an AC game, not to mention the protagonist was fucking terrible. Black Flag was really fun for me, liked the setting and naval combat was fun as hell. Unity i have to try yet...

So i'd skip Revelations and AC3.

Well i dunno. It is a bit tedious and repetitive. Sure assassinations are OK, but the rest you're spending climbing tall buildings and doing 2-3 things all game long.

All Ezio games are good games. Revelations is good, except that tower defence mini game which anoyed me like hell. It's not worth to skip a game so good story wise, for just one thing.

P.S. I'm an AC fanboy, and liked all of the games except Unity. Unity was pure shit. IGNORE IT AT ALL COST.

The Ezio games were awesome, i liked them all. The first one i disliked was AC3. Rogue is pretty good too, imho.
