http://segmentnext.com/2016/02/10/battleborn-team-will-work-on-borderlands-3-2k/
Quote: | When asked about Borderlands 3, 2K’s Chris Thomas revealed that the same team that is currently on Battleborn will work on Borderlands 3 as well.
I imagine it would be the same team. Almost every time we’ve worked with Gearbox, they’ve used most of their studio for the games that we’re working on because the games that we put out tend to be huge AAA titles and that’s just generally their Mission Objective. They’re going to throw as many of their good guys as they can at it.
I think Randy Pitchford said that they [Gearbox] were hiring for Borderlands 3, so I’m sure their team’s going to grow as well. So we’ll see exactly what that composition of employees and staff that they have, and what resource breakdown they have, when it comes to Borderlands 3 |

Yep i think we are close to massive publishers / dev studios jumping on the crowdfunding bandwagon. Checkmate consumers! now you must pay for us to develop dlc ridden p2w re-skinned rubbish.

Let me guess, uses same engine, reskinned and new story, if its going to be like this im not interested. Imagine borderlands with touch of MMO, more loot, not restricted just for guns (full body armor etc..).

I have to admit to similar feelings. I really loved these games but couldn't even bother with the dlc for 2.5.

If they still have the same idiotc loot mechanism like the previous games, that forces you to ninja every item in multiplayer, i won't give a shit about this one neither. Same as i didn't bother with "The Presequel".

I dont mind tbh, the expansions you got for the season pass was actually worth it IMO. Besides that you allready got a full game without the dlcs, which you could fully enjoy.
Im no BL fan nor do i like Season Passes.

Content was very lengthy in BL2, it gave the original game a second wind. I certainly didn't buy both for full price, they were all iso-demoed and then I bought the game and the pass at a combined price at about £23. Found it to be a very good one, the smaller expansions dropped to £0.50-£1.00 on some Steam sale anyway.

I dont mind season passes, but its the bullshit charging for other DLC "not included" that bothers me. A season Pass is a SEASON PASS.
NO LINKS TO ILLEGAL STUFF IN SIGS - DLC IS ILLEGAL TOO

hardly surprising theyre doing another. lately gearbox has demonstrated how much of a shit developer they are, so they had to run back to the well by making another one of these shitheaps, because they realized they basically just have to rerelease the same damn game again with some minor alterations, and people will lap it up.

BL2 was a pretty big improvement over BL1 though? Gearbox might have been shit, but surely they can't fuck up BL3 that badly. Fans of the series actually love the boring loot and bullet sponges.

eh bl2, what.. they added snow? other than that it was the same damn game. go to the thing, get a quest to kill x number of x, go there, kill things, come back, get another quest to go kill x number of x in a different area... rinse and repeat. oh and theres loot, and occasionally a big thing to kill. just mind numbingly repetitive, and with so many guns that are only incrementally better, or might be a lil better at killing one type of thing and a lil worse at killing another, theres nothing to work towards or feel pride in obtaining because whatever you have is redundant within half an hour. I just ended up sticking with one gun because it just wasnt worth getting excited by loot any more. I know that lots of people love that shit and can happily spend dozens of hours grinding shit and doing the same thing over and over again to raise some stat a lil higher, AND THATS FINE... each to their own, but its not for me.. i just cant do that shit any more.

And I thought you would understand why fans would want sequels to be tailored for them, and not the non-fans, you know, lowest common denominator and all that bollocks...The fans wanted the same shit so they got an iterative sequel. They got more loot variety, crazier guns, better story missions, more characters, more power progression, better skill trees, better NG+, more equipment types, more vehicles, more bosses, more DLCs...
Like I said, BL2 was what fans of BL1 would have wanted, and if they do the same again with 3, it will be great for them again.

of course i understand, but i dont think the game was the leap you think it was, since it felt like a very low-effort repackaging of the first game to me. I agree, of course, that fans of the game were very happy with it, precisely because it was the same game as the first. My post was purely from my point of view that its a very low-effort franchise thats easy to make lots of money on because they dont really have to do much to keep fans of the franchise happy. Its an ugly game so they dont have to (and havent in the past) try very hard on the visual end of things... the levels are 'themed' but generally pretty bland (compare it with something like a bethesda game and you can see how little effort they really put into the areas) they dont have to put much effort into the missions/story because its all repeatable grind quests just like any other mmo out there that the franchise tries to copy, and the weapons dont have any love or attention paid to them because its all part of a giant randomization machine (make some textures, make some pieces, and let the game stitch them together a la no mans sky, far as i understand it?)
i mean, call of duty has more effort put into it in each game, and we lambaste it for being samey low-effort, low-aiming shit, while we dont afford it the same excuse as being 'just what gamers want'...

See that's what I disagreed with. I just didn't think BL2 was a low effort sequel. What it really was, was a risk free one if you ask me. We'll just have to agree to disagree, not a big deal anyway. I do see your point.
Also I actually don't think CoD are low effort games either, definitely not with the latest one, however I love hating on it because they are console-centric FPS playable with anyone's brain turned off.
