What do you mean with if we ever get those lol.. There are no "remakes" of those games. Crapcom decided to port REmake to PC because it was already developed game. For RE2 and RE3 remakes, they have to do it from scratch which is not going to happen.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
It's easier to make a remake, half of the job is already done - story, characters, scenery. All that is left is graphics(most of it is 2d) and some programming to new engine.
Those games may not be so appealing to newfags, but there are plenty of old RE fans out there.
It's well worth a playthrough, REmake has a few fun additions. The graveyard area which was cut from the PSX original, the George Trevor subplot which was cut as well, Lisa as a boss and her cabin (around and bellow) as additional areas. The odd room here and there as well. And the art direction is completely different (and impressive).
I like RE2/3 more as well, but really I love all three of them

finished it, after restarting thx to crimsons
but once i figured out what i have to do it was relatively easy as long as i did everything systematically.
in the 1st half of the game i evaded most zombies and rarely killed any, because of that i only encountered 2 crimsons (1 unavoidable story one).
the 2nd half was a breeze, i had too much ammo, herbs, everything to give any fucks
died 2 times total in the run, had shitloads of ammo, herbs, ribbons left over at the end.
i played on normal mode (mountain) but i admit i used alternate controls, and this did make the game quite a bit easier.
i played the original several times but for some reason never did the gc remake, i was surprised how much effort they put into it, it was pretty much a new game to me, from the added locations and enemies, to the rearranged items/keys that made me take completely different paths from the original and of course especially the (now even more) amazing backgrounds oozing atmosphere.
Nostalgia is all nice and warm, suddenly we don't feel so old among our sweet memories.
But on its own, the game is pretty mediocre.
Tedious inventory system forcing constant backtracking? Check
Instadeaths combined with limited saves? Check
Fixed camera angles obstructing view, so that you don't see what's going on? Check
I like old games quite a lot, but this particularly is not very solid design-wise.

Remake is my favourite of the classic series. They applied all the lessons they learnt from the previous ones.
@The_Zeel: Now play with the other character for the "story"
Chris' campaign makes no sense, it begins with "where is Barry" and... we never hear or see Barry. So you are going to wonder what the hell happened to Barry if you don't play Jill's campaign.
In Jill's campaign there's Chris missing instead and you find him at the end of the game so there's no "plot hole" and you don't need to play with Chris to understand the plot.
Chris' campaign has the more canon elements though. The impalement of Wesker by the Tyrant as later expanded upon in RE: TUC, the beginning of the Chris vs Wesker rivalry which becomes a major part of the series in CV, 5 and even 6. And you get to meet Rebecca which is the protagonist of 0.
Jill campaign's link to the series is that you escape with Barry who has a cameo in the canon ending of RE3 and will finally co-star in the upcoming REvelations 2 in a plot once again involving his family.

Yo, KCZ, I'm really happy for you, and Imma let you finish, but I just got to say your opinion is wrong. Tis game is perfection.

well i already finished the original on psx with jill, so i know the story of that one, unless there are big changes now. so i guess at some point barry will turn traitor again in revelations 2, because someone is holding his family hostage, again.
jill seems pretty quick in the remake, but her knife is total crap compared to chris', shorter range, slower and weaker.
with chris i could safely slash away at zombies using alternate controls, while with jill its pretty risky.
i already started hard mode with jill, so i ll do it one of these weeks, atleast there s gonna be less backtracking due to bigger inventory.

oh wow
edit:
btw. Whats with the fxaa in this game ?
fxaa3 and fxaa 3hq barely cover any jaggies on the models.
Standard fxaa covers all possible jaggies but its most blurry fxaa I've ever seen.
whats up with that

The default AA is indeed a low-quality one. I'm using Sparse Grid Super Sampling through the inspector (0x080000C1), but I don't know if there's something similar that can be done with Atimd :<
I like the result though, it's the only way to make the models look clean:
Spoiler:
(the framerate on the other hand fluctuates a lot, not 60fps steady).
In order to shake off enemies using keyboard, you only need to press left-right (at least in tank mode controls)
There is no need to jam any other buttons. Tested, it works with zombies and dogs, probably any other enemy that can grab too.
In case of zombies you'll take one bite in climbing mountain difficulty (bright yellow caution) .
Your insults will do nothing to blunt the agonies of your demise.

Do not use SSGA, it produces some weird bugs and insane slowdowns.
Better to use 0x08002041 for MSAA + in-game FXAA3HQ on top.
