after the update, when i launch the game, i just have a black screen (dxtory fps counter showing , nothing else ...)
oddly enough yesterday i was able to play the patched version just fine ...
edit : reinstalled without update and same issue oO

maybe from dxtory ? black screen here if fraps is open

Stopped the main missions before going to the next zone and I'm very impressed with the quality of some of the Side quests.
even plagued with the performance issues this is still a bloody enjoyable game.
not tried the patch yet. Does it fix the freezing issues or help frame rate Drops?

Did I spoil you the fact that game has QTE scenes? I'm sorry, no your first [SPOLIER]ZOMBIE GRAB QTE SCENE[/SPOLIER] will be no fun.
Oh man, such a shame. When I first time saw QTE scene I had so much JOY. You will never be able to feel it now.

In my case it is considerably better. However, I wonder whether fps boost comes mostly from CPU load optimization or from ninja nerfed viewing distance
1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB
2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

Any ideas - I purchased this from G2A as a RU steam gift - activated fine.
I also purchased the RU season pass - I had to use a VPN to activate this.
Now, the season pass is showing under my DLC tab - any thoughts on if I will have issues when the DLC is released ?

guys, sorry I don't know if this has already been mentioned or answered but is there anyway to transfer a reloaded save file over to an original steam version of the game?.
I have tried switching them but it seems the reloaded save file isn't recognized by the steam version of the game.

In my case, yes. Before, I had the occasional framerate hiccups and constant sound stutter. After the patch, neither.
A bloody great game. Somehow, bashing in the heads of human-resembling zombies (even though they are made up of zeroes and ones, in reality) conveys a feeling of satisfaction that never gets old.

I didn't notice any major improvements with the patch, since I already had the distance set to zero to begin with as precautionary measure to avoid the nasty stuttering  . There are still some annoying framerate drops, but putting the shadows on medium helped for me, the framerate is quite stable now (not 60fps stable though) at 1080p and no hitching is involved, which is fully playable.
It's a shame that the game didn't get any QA, because I think it's the best Dead Island (by far) both in terms of immersion and attention to details, if feels more complete. It's also two games in one, Mirror's Zombie Brawler at day, Urban Alien Isolation at night. 
Now if only those Warner wankers stopped being drama queens and allowed proper modding, that'd be even better

For those with 1.2.1 who wants some mods back and don't want to downgrade, here is my mod for 1.2.1 with a few harmless extras.

Timepiece (you can redefine [4] key from the in-game menu)
No intro, no film grain
Less glow,fog and dof
Durability set to 0.1
Inventory 20
Ammo x2
Sadly, with this way of modding, all mods should be in one file and you can't just alter them (the game will not start). On the bright side, you don't have to fiddle with exe and dlls.

You get blueprints for them, not the weapons themselves which means you have to get the ingredients and craft them.
