So I just pasted over the Ali patch/crack the 3DM patch/crack and voila the crashes are gone. So for me the Ali update is definitely faulty.
As for the game, it has worse visuals and sound than Remember Me but I actually prefer it.
Yeah, it has a too UNREALISTIC american youth hipster fuck yeah!! tone and writing because I presume the French developers behind this have no idea about actual life in America (not that I do  ) and based everything on movies/series/...
Just take a look at the car plates before you leave the campus, all of them reference stuff like Twin Peaks, Breaking Bad or Twilight Zone IIRC.
But it sort of grows on you.. I think.. Maybe I'll hate it again when I resume my playthrough

If they spoke like real teenagers they'd sound like that lemme take a selfie song, it would be unbearable.
My take is they are all superhipsters trying to be self-referential using old memes. The only character who's dialogue really bothered me was Chloe, but that is a pretty unlikeable character so far

What's with so many people praising the soundtrack? Even the developers themselves claimed it's 50% of the experience??? I heard nothing particularly memorable. Nothing like in Remember Me.

Oh, so it's just another game that pampers the player - people like to reload repeatedly to see various outcome, so why just not build it right into the game... as an ability.
Still... not enough game, and too much movie. I can see this becomes a trend. I can still appreciate the game trying to be slow and moody, but there's not enough creepy strangeness (Deadly Premonition style), and too much teenage cuteness.
