Finished it, i would give it a 7/10, its a bit better than dead island games, thats for sure, the parkour adds a new dimension to the tedious gameplay of the previous games, wich i could not even finish, so theres that.

But the story is still lacking, its nothing special really, you just go from point to point doing some delieveries or helping someone, the npc's all look the same as mentioned by another user, the second city is a missed oportunity, it is big, but theres not much going on, same types of enemies, same stuff as the slums, same type of missions, with all that verticality i was expecting a lot more, and 80% of its storyline was resolved around going underwater or in sewers, that killed it for me..and they all looked the same also, the maps were not that big, so they could of given of little more thought into the details for sure.

The graphics are totaly on par with dead island, theres a few more high res textures here and there but its esssentialy the same game, with some particle effects and pigeons... the slums looks the same in the whole map expect for the big bridge in the middle, and old city is a bunch arabic clone buildings, it has no real geometry thought put into it. its meshed toghether.

Its an ok game, its fun at its core, and thats what matters most of the time, but it is far from a good game theres too many flaws in it..its definatly overrated by the websites reviews at this point, especialy ign and the likes.

can you please tell me what are you playing besides dying light?

pls rate this games from 1-10

ac4:black flag
bf4
far cry 3
far cry 4

I can in fact tell you what im playing, sure.. and give my opinion on the AC state of the franchise..

I am currently playing Dragon age Inquisition, Metro redux, Alien isolation, the witcher 2, the vanishing of ethan carter, watch dogs, Far cry 4, the evil within, Dead rising 3, Shadow of mordor, Deus Ex human revolution, metal gear ground zeroes, asssassins creed unity.

From this bunch, i barely started DR3, and ACU, and im struggling as i said on the DA:I threat to finish that game, cause after 25h i can barely take much more of the same stuff i did up until that point.

That beeing said, im loving games like alien isolation, deus ex, alien isolation..great games, the witcher 2 ( i still believe this is a better rpg than DA:I and much more enjoyable..)

As far as AC creed games go, i have enjoyed AC II the most, followed by black flag, than ACIII than brotherhood, i put the first AC game in the last place with revelations cause i realy did not like that game.

I barely started unity but it already feels to me worst (tecnhical issues aside) than black flag, i did enjoy the aspect of sailing and the pirate era was refreshing, unity to me brings absolutly nothing to the table, and since ACIII they messed up the combat system so bad that i could not feel any impact of the hits on either black flag or unity, beeing the animations of the latter one much worst imo.

If i had to rate ubisoft games (wich i still dont know why u want me too, comparing them to dead island games maybe?!)

It would be as follow:

Far cry 3 8/10

far cry 4 7/10

AC black flag 8/10

Unity so far is a 7, but i only played a few hours..

Although assassins creed is in a decline, they still do offer better overall story, better immersion, a better open world, far more detailed and more variaty when it comes to gameplay compared to this dead island spin off.

Same thing for far cry series, you cannot compare the amount of stuff and scope that game has to these zombie fps..

Whereas I wouldn't give it a 10 id say it's a 8.5-9.0 for me. The game is fun as fuck and tbh it's better than a lot of the shite the critics have been lapping up lately.

Still at first city but I find it very enjoyable. The free running is real fun.
But I hate fighting humans with their blocking and the city is not really memorable.

I'm on that early side mission you have to find a gun for the guy. It won't give me a marker..but it did..for a second. I went to follow the mission so it'd bring up a marker, but when I did, it won't place the marker. If you "find it" in the map it shows a spot, but there is nothing there. Googling seems to indicate other people were given a marker for this mission. Is there any guaranteed place I can find one to give him. It seems taking this mission also disabled my access to other side missions. So i'd like to clear it so I can get those back.

You can only find guns after 'Pact with Rais' the marker isn't leading to a gun, the only thing you can find in the area is EXPcalibur.

Guns turn up through progress in the story.

And that's pretty much how it is, so I'd rate it highly too.

I'd already rate Dead Island/Riptide pretty high, so I couldn't agree more. Very Happy This one is a meaty improvement in the gameplay, atmosphere and even the narrative department, it gets the full seal of approval. My only complaint is that it still retains a bit too much arcade-y-ness when abusing the upgrades/abilities (they're somewhat unbalanced, and this happens in games like Far Cry 3&4 as well), but it's nothing serious really. Techland are cool devs in my book.

Yes it is region locked, I bought the russian version from G2PLAY and activated via VPN, but once I tried to run it normally once it was downloaded etc it gave me the "this game is region locked and cannot be played in your country blah blah" steam message.
If anyone knows if there is a way to bypass this would be great, I doubt there is though.

I was in that building and didn't notice it. I assumed someone shot him. I'll go back. Any idea why all the other side quests disappeared when I accepted this one? The first one I took kept them active, but then this one made things weird.

[edit]
Just went back, it's not there in my game. I'm using the 1.3 patch they must have took it out.

Bloody hell. I hoped clearing this mission would let me do the other side quests.

Didn't know that. Does that apply to the multi-language versions of games too, like Dark Souls? Dark Souls is also locked in my country, but i was thinking of buying the key from somewhere else and activate it on the steam.

Yea this game is excellent. I mean i'm all for open world games but this one is very beautifully made. In other open world games, you get bored of the repetitive side-quests. This one, for some strange reason, get's me hooked everytime i play. I try not to finish it too fast so i enjoy it. I mean everything in-game is nicely made and i never get bored in searching for items and stuff and making new weapons. Let's hope they keep games like this coming although i must say that DI:Riptide was ok as well. This one is just better polished and more detail oriented. All in all as someone said above GOTY material for me as well.

Did you start on 1.3? I went to the place, hit the Q, nothing. Nothing pings, no gun under the table at all.
As I said I was already there once, but no way I'd miss the fact that I'd picked up a gun.

That particular gun should always be there and it should respawn unless it has some min level requirement but any gun (EDIT: Pistol) will do, personally since I did the side quests after the MQ I just bought one in the store in the Tower itself and gave that to him. Smile
(If they haven't appeared yet then level up a bit more or progress the storyline further and they should be more common.)

Spoiler for that quest chain.

Nope, started on release version, but took me a good few days of side quests to get to that hut which was updated to 1.3 by this point and only went there because a "protect" side mission takes you into it.

Kept reminding me of the tunes in mass effect .. like, rly similar, almost note by note, the theme on the main menu is exactly like some tunes in ME.
