How the hell can that have a negative review already? >_< Anyway, that aside, the addon sounds like it could be awesome.
Alien Isolation has sold over 1 million units worldwide since launching in October, Creative Assembly has announced.
Despite its critical success, however, sales of the first-person horror have been slower than that of 2013's Aliens: Colonial Marines, which sold 1.31 million units within its first 7 weeks on sale.
UPDATE: SEGA has reached out to VideoGamer.com to clarify that Aliens: Colonial Marines' 1.31m figure represents units sold-in to retailers, while Alien Isolation's 1 million milestone represents units sold through to consumers.
"It has been fantastic to watch the reviews come in and read of the reactions of players, hidden in the bowels of Sevastopol Station, terrified to make the next move," said creative lead Alistair Hope. "We set out to make the Alien game we had always wanted to play and from these figures it seems we also succeeded in making the Alien game another million wanted to play. We hope many more gamers enjoy Alien: Isolation in 2015."
While plans for the series' future have yet to be confirmed, lead game designer Gary Napper said last month that talk of a sequel was a "daily topic" at the developer.
"People have their own ideas for where it should go, our writers have some solid concepts and yes, we do have a great opportunity to continue [Amanda Ripley's] story," he said.
"If we made a sequel I would like to stick to the same terrifying single Alien approach but do more with the environment and interactivity within it."
Whoa... that's.... not good? 1m across all platforms? For another Alien game? Wow I was expecting a lot more to be honest.
Coming off the back off Colonial Marines it did better than I expected tbh. I've witnessed the average person see another SEGA published Alien game a year after the shit fest of the last and give it a miss without realising it's a completely different developer and style of gameplay.
Sounds like they're quite happy with the results though, even if the game would deserve much much more. After the Colon Marines nuclear bomb that indeed damaged any kind of future credibility and the so-so Isolation reviews from dem useless derpournos, such numbers make sense I think.
A potential sequel done right (like they hinted in the last line) will produce an immensely better outcome. Trust has been fully earned, again, it only takes some time^^

Well... it's sad that such a good game only got such a low number but I think it's decent-ish?
You have to remember it comes off the back of Colonial Marines AND had to deal with alot of reviews and ADHD gamers complaining how the game is too hard because the Alien can detect you if you run or make noise...
As good as the game is it's got plenty of shit thrown at it. The misinformed kind of shit but still shit that scares consumers away.
Welcome to Lost Contact, the fourth add-on content pack for Alien: Isolation, returning to the epic Salvage Mode.
Trapped in deep space on board Sevastopol, you'll need to explore the station to complete objectives and survive. Can you evade your enemies across ten waves of challenges, or will you take them head-on?
The second all new Salvage Mode map, featuring the Lorenz Private Wards and the Emergency Power Plant.
Play as fan-favourite Axel and equip yourself with the Revolver and Boltgun.
Try to survive encounters with Working Joes, other humans and the terrifying Alien itself.

Lost Contact offers a new Salvage Challenge to the game’s Survivor Mode, giving you a big new map with 10 challenges to attempt. Each challenge you accept brings both a new objective and a new enemy type, and surviving long enough to craft some useful items and rack up a high score might be a bit… tricky.
As much as I enjoyed the game, I don't think I have it in me for any DLC content. Unless it's amazing or something, I feel pretty good about where I left off...

its crap dlc's. challenge waves, high scores... its just a cash grab.
I wish I enjoyed the game as much as you guys did, I can't bring myself to say it was bad. I liked the game in general, especially how faithful to source material it was. But it was a bit too long with not much of a gameplay. The worst part for me was the Alien, it was never scary as it was always around me and I saw it constantly. It was a nuisance, I really hated it's scripted nature. And no It wasn't around me because I kept making noises. Overall I've both liked it and disappointed at the same time.

Unfortunaly im sharing your opinion of the game, the more and more i progress in the game,
The first 4 hours of this game is the most amazing, immersive, visualy appealing section i have seen lately in a video game, they got the artwork, the lightning and everything just right..
After that, the alien eventualy appears, and you have your first encounters with it, and now after a few more hours i cannot bring myself to finish it even, it just became a borefest, and im a big fan of horror and stealth games, but the gameplay just isnt there, i do not thing that opening doors contantly with QTE's and evading those droids are enough to keep me invested and interested in finishing this game, 80% of the time you are just walking around, you cant even read a note without that random alien pick up on you randomly for a death scene.
The save system didnt help with all this ofc, i understand why they did it, its proly tied with the scripted nature of the alien, when it is scripted that is, but it becomes tedious to repeat some sections and kills the immersion for me.
This game should of been just like ethan carter, it has great ideas, that can only be sustained for like 5 or 6 hours, 8 hours top max, but they choose to boost it to 18-20, thats just too much...
Its a shame cause i really liked the vibe, they got that really well done, its perfectly nailed, but the gameplay consists of walking around, restarting some engines, and ofc avoid the alien, and i think that also goes down to personal taste, some ppl enjoy doing that for 20h, i guess im not one of them...
It almost feels like a never ending demo.. i guess its a bit harsh to say that, but its my opion atm, i havent uninstalled it, i might return to it someday..
you cant even read a note without that random alien pick up on you randomly for a death scene.
These are the type of comments that just baffle me really. I played it on hard and the only times I died was when I got a bit too cocky and started walking around. I never got "randomly" picked up by the alien. It was always because of something specific that I've done.

I agree, maybe i went a bit too far with that one, but it didnt happen a few times where i just genuinaly wanted to read a note.. not trying to make things up to make the game bad, i guess in the end, most things i said could be excused if the game was shorter, and thats about it, to sum it up.
