Which games are there with 50's sci-fi or 50's comics themes?

There's Freedom Force 1-2 which i really love, especially the over-the-top voice acting. The best "feel good" games of all times imo Smile

Bioshock is ok or even great (not my favorite genre these days).

There's of course Fallout, also great.

Anything else that is inspired by this period that i might have missed (any genre)?

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified springs to mind. Gets awfully repetitive but I liked the atmosphere.
Godfather/Mafia games/L.A. Noire? Not really comicy/Scifi I guess

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead
Theres everything from bionics to mutations. Like in comic books gamma radiation causes mutations.
Of enemies and npc's theres everything from soldiers of fortune to terminators or invaders from R'lyeh.
It all takes place during a zombie apocalypse, the world is completely randomized. Yes it's a roguelike, but if you play your character well you don't die.
Here's a combat log from my current Flunked martial artist student - who really only started studying after the world ended.

This was after entering a basement, on the look out for weapons, happened upon this zombie brute in the darkness. Zombie brutes are human steroid addicts turned zombie.
My character is a lightweight, but has been studying different forms of martial arts. So this was no small feat. Theres Zombie Hulks as well, which are just like The Hulk, only in Zombie form - yes they can throw cars after you.
Eventually you can become a superman like character, or a tentacled monster from beyond.
Or even a Cyborg that can teleport through walls or seemingly stop time like the Shrike in Hyperion.

With the Mshock32 tileset it looks like this

Please don't let the 2d graphics discourage you, it really is the best and most in depth game of this kind in a long time.

Whats the name again of that game that looked like Bioshock but with a 50s sci-fi setting? Like with big eye aliens and bubbly zap guns???

Quote:
You Are Empty takes place in 1955 in alternative Russia, where Joseph Stalin still reigns. In an attempt to ensure the global victory of Communism, the Soviet Union has constructed a massive psychic antenna to broadcast a reality-altering signal designed to transform the population of the Soviet Union into supermen. However, the experiment goes horribly wrong, and most of the population is either killed or transformed into homicidal mutants.

I heard it's great Laughing

Great, a lot of games i haven't tried Smile The Bureau: XCOM Declassified yeah i remember being quite hyped about this one but if i remember correctly people were disappointed in it.. might try.

@deadpoetic : this one looks really nice and atmospheric. not too crazy about that strange filter they use (contrast is way too strong, looks very bad in the videos). I think i'll give this one a shot.

@Epsilon thanks for the suggestion.. though a very big part of why i love this setting is because of the aesthetics which i find very charming. I did try the game _very_ briefly and i got irritaded quickly with the strange controls, e.g instead of pressing enter to confirm you press tab, tons of such crazy things that didnt make any sense to me..

No one Lives forever.. right.. those were cool, i think i played the first one.. there are 3 right?

All those recommending Destroy All Humans, did you play it on your PC? Is it available on emulators? I always wanted to try that game out, but never had a PS2.

Dunno, I own it on the PS3 (I actually assumed it was available on the PC ).
Should work with a PS2 emu if you don't mind playing that version.
