I love the controls. Maybe you have to get used to them.
But I agree the slowdown is a major issue on the console versions, but I can live with it for such a fun game.

just bust a move
uh yeah yeah oh oh yeah
game looks maddish. Could be utter sizzlin shite boilin on the counter or it could be mellow spinnin’ through vinyl and fillin the room with purdy melody. Shots and gameplay videos posted while back don't thrill me one bit.
The whole matrix game ideas has been perfected in max payne 1 and 2
All shiny had to do was call up remedy... throw in a few freebie bj's under the table and poof! NEO ANDRESON: ENTERS THE MATRIX
A remedy and shiny collaboration
Man with the fluid game play of max payne 1 and 2 and the matrix style + visuals + features + levels + voice acting + story and you'd be pissin' yourself silly!
My mouth just waters thinking of a matrix game on the max payne engine that I don't know the name of

I think this is way from the begining.
Enter the matrix was just a revolutions event.

Injurious is correct. But, you should play ETM. I thought it was a good game. Not a great game but it was a good game. Niobe kissing Persephone was kind of wierd. If you play as Ghost then it's not so weird. Definitely worth playing.

the controls dont suck at all, fps is an issue but its still playable, and as for people winging about the graphics they arent so bad and the lighting is very good (for a console game) nothing better than fighting smith in the subway station, that shizzle is fun.

to anyone that has it for pc, is the combat overly simplistic like ETM ie: one button mashing? I sincerely hope not

Well, I have played it a bit. I must say, the graphics in this game does not to the movies justice. It look like some cheap console port and is pretty ugly by today's standards.
The way the camera is setup is very annoying. It is hard to follow the action because of this, kinda hard to describe. Another thing about this is that they should have put the camera on your left shoulder or higher above the character so you see more of what is in front of you.
And sorry to disappoint you evilmonkey, but yes, the action is overly simplistic. Nothing more than button mashing.
My 2 cents.

I love this game, the fighting is so intense, you run straigt into a crowd of enemies, bash the first one, go into "focus mode" or "bullettime" and this slowsdown as in the movies, enabling you to anticipate surrounding enemies intentions and thus make moves accordingly like kickback or start a cycle of 360 degree asskicking
or my favorite: stun the guy you already beating on kick the guy behind you so he flies up in the air, now grab him and the first guy with each of your hands lift them up high and throw them into the ground simultaneausly -WICKED!.
This game feels like playing a matrix movie, atleast with the combat, and in the beginning you really fear the agents, but then as you get more skilled and get to know the different moves, it's like your evolving 'with' neo in the movie as you become more skilled and when you reach a point where most moves are at your fingertips is also the point where neo destroys smith in the first movie..... best matrix game to date, and a very good game on it's own
UPDATE: To parralax who says the combat is overly simplistic and nothing but button mashing, try defeating an agent with just mashing the same button and not making any moves. Yes the combat is simplistic IN THE BEGINNING, but then you learn more, if you want of course, if you just push the lessons aside for the moves etc, then of course you won't learn a thing and the combat will be simplistic, but you won't be able to complete the game either.

So what about the controls with the keyboard? does it play fine? BTW anyone with a GF4Ti? I wonder how the fps will hold with that.. I have 2x256DDR400 ram and P4C 2.6ghz.

The game requires a Shader Model 1.3 or better card, so a GF4Ti will not work at all (which is why the min system reqs say fx5200/Radeon 8500).
