It should anger people. This practice of releasing new handhelds in this fashion is in my opinion despicable, and the more more people who just blindly buy them the more this will continue or even get worse. This is probably just the last stab at bleeding money from people before a new handheld generation.

Agreed with the above comments.
Nintendo never fail to surprise with the BS they pull.
It's just a shame they've not lost all their money and taken their IPs to a software only market.

Could you really sense anger in my post !?! People buying new 3ds's that haven't owned a 3DS I can understand, but upgrading to a $200 machine that has no games for it and slightly better 3D is insane ...... and I think sets a bad precedent where Nintendo have such a loyal fan base they could sell a polished turd and it would sell out.
I have a 3DS, and most probably will buy a new one if there are a lot of new games coming out for it that aren't available on the normal 3DS ...... but at the moment there are 0 games out for it and only 1 announced but it's sold out over most of the US ...... that's crazy !?

What makes you think everyone has finished all games released before new 3DS came out?
I had a 3DS from the very beginning and later a 3DS XL and still haven't finished even 10% of the games available.
And also the 3D is fundamentally better, not slightly. I'd say there was no 3D before that's how much better it is now.

Really enjoying the new 3DS too. Finally good 3D.
The naming of it is stupid, just because Apple pulls this shit with the ipads they have to do it too? It's idiotic for a number of reasons. In a world where people are using google to find information about things. New this or that will not give you desirable results. Why not "Super 3DS"? First time i read about "the new 3DS" i thought it just was a really old article about the 3DS so I ignored it.
Nintendo are very questionable in a number of ways. Transfering the old games to the new unit was a lot more complicated than it had to be, it's like a 2 page read(!). Their search engine in the eShop is completely moronic. I searched for Starfox, 0 results except 1 trailer. Eventually I searched for Star Fox and i finally found it, the search engine is extremely "dumb". The eShop is also a total mess with DLC''s and trailers and whatnot all mashed together in their lists, so it takes forever to find the actual game.

Their marketing department should be fired.
"New 3ds" is as bad as the wii u.
You need to name shit in a way that makes sense. 3ds 2. Wii 2. Etc
Because of their shit naming normal consumers are completely clueless the new hardware is actually new.

too many requirements and also they require up to 9.2.
sky3ds doesn't have any requirements like that and works with latest firmware.

Not to even mention getting a OOT cart is fucking expensive. They are going for $70 plus in the US. So expensive that most who want it buy it on the eshop.

and none of that makes any difference if your N3DS isn't compatible with gateway requirements or you don't want to spend close to 200$ in required equipment for it to work on N3DS.

You could use Sky3DS to boot up Zelda OOT though  Which is quite a great deal considering the game is now really expensive.

yay ! too bad i was looking to sell my 3DS XL since i got myself a N3DS XL
@azzman : i can't find it at this price here in France, so I just got a brand new Zelda OOT for 40€.... fucking expensive but Nintendo games are always expensive... Since i still have my old 3DS, i can easily install the exploit.
