- Official web page: King Kong Game
- Developer's Game web page: King Kong Game
- Developer & Publisher: Ubi Soft Entertainment
- Genre: 3D Action / 3D Adventure
- Release date: 10.11.2005
- Story/Description:
Quote: | King Kong the movie follows a 1930s-era film crew, led by director Carl Denham and explorer Jack Driscoll, which travels to the dreaded Skull Island in the South Pacific for a location shoot. Once there, they discover the place is crawling with many prehistoric creatures--and a 30-foot-tall gorilla known as Kong. Kong falls in love with the film's star, Ann Darrow, who unwittingly aids in the supersized simian's capture. Kong is taken back to New York City to be shown to the public...but escapes. The result is a rampage through downtown Manhattan, which eventually has consequences much more tragic than mere property damage.
Peter Jackson's King Kong will let gamers play as both Jack and as Kong himself on a variety of missions, sometimes even within the same level. Produced by Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil creator Michel Ancel, it was made with the expressed goal to have players experience the same emotions they would in the film. Though neither character has a visible heads-up display, both points of view differ significantly. As Jack, players see the world in a first-person perspective which leads to greater immersion. As Kong, players are given a third-person view to show the havoc he wreaks on his surroundings. |

nice =D the demo was fun, it was simplistic, but fun and cool as hell to break the jaws of those dinos, and the part where you had to throw spears at the t-rex, oh my god

Looking forward to YET another game!! LOL! What a month and a half this has been. This game looks great. Cannot wait for the movie. Am I the only one who is still depressed that Trespasser was such a POS!? I think we need a high production value, good developer version of Jurassic Park or something like it. I thought Trespasser was an awesome idea but the palsy hand was horrible. Cannot wait to play this!

The movie trailer was awesome! Can someone please whip up a mini review. I would like to know how the game controls and how the graphics are.
Thanks,

Well the graphics look fantastic on Xbox considering, and the controls are great. There is no interface at all, so you don't worry about health or armor or anything. You have a button where the guy says how much ammo he has left e.g. "2 clips left!" or "1 shell left!". It's really cool. Also, you can be attacked once by an animal, but if you fend it off, you'll heal and live. If you're attacked twice in quick succession you die.
You can interact with the environment to a high degree too. Such as picking up a rib from an animal carcass, and using it to spear a large grub which can then be used to lure animals away from an area you want to go. Cool stuff like that.
It has that movie feel too, with T rex's attacking and massive brontosaur heards.
I guess if your computer is up to spec the graphics could be even better on the PC version.

Thanks AnimalMother! That was a great mini review and the game sounds awesome! I cannot wait to play this. Patience, Patience. It sounds like the realism is paramount. Call of Cthulhu does the same thing. No hud to be found. Looks to be a great experience.
