Watched season 1 and first episode of season 2 in the last two days now. Fucking awesome show!!
The three main girls are some god damn hot pieces.
First season reminded me very much of Lost, and second season starts to feel like the Bioshock games. Great shit man. Last episode of the first season was great too, and so was the first episode of the second one.
But there were and are several plot holes i would have loved they explained. For example:
Spoiler: | Where did they get all the tools from and from where all the materials to build such a large wall? The dropship looked still pretty complete at the end.
It would also be nice if they showed which jobs every survivor was assigned too. Every episode the camp got a bit bigger, but it never really was shown how.
And at the end of season 1 Raven is still in the dropship. How did the mountain men could not have found her? |

Tbh I don't really remember, so I'm gonna speculate on some things
Spoiler: |
- I suppose they had tools on the ship.I doubt the Council would send them there without any tools given the mission they had. As for all the materials. yeah it's strange.
- As far as I remember she was somewhere deep within the ship and the circumstances were not ideal for a thorough search |

@Lathieza
Yeah the decision she made was ....dubious to say the least.
Someone on imdb has summarized her "achievements":
Spoiler: |
- she lost at least 500 warriors to get back 50 weak and sick people. Although one might argue that the missile killed off any opposing leaders that could have challenged Lexa and it united all the warring clans under her. So it was a sacrifice for power
- she retreated on the brink of success but maybe she didn't wanna lose any more people
- she left the enemy stronger as MW will now be able get out of the bunker and kill grounders more effectively, however, I doubt mountain men would go after them coz ark survivors have more effective bone marrow
- she betrayed an ally. Well..her people come first
|
Here is another rather cynical take on why she did what she did.
Spoiler: | Quote: | Lexa is thinking long term. She recognizes that her people have not one but two different powerful enemies in close proximity. By striking her deal with the mountain men, she was able to get what she wanted from this mission: her people back. The alliance a whole has also benefited her by disabling Mt Weather's acid fog, and the harvesting of Arker bone marrow will eliminate the need to drain grounders. Now she can sit back and allow her two other threats beat the shit out of each other. No matter who wins, the Grounders are come out of it as the strongest remaining force. |
|
My guess next episode Spoiler: | Clarke challenges Lexa, kills her and becomes a new commander lol However, there is another possibility.. Octavia challenges her(she is one of them after all now) |

Only at s02e11 till now i think and i still love this show
Seems it will get even better towards the finale
Though i find it bad, that several characters take a 180° turn in their attitude and that with each episode most of the grounders speak english and act much more civilized compared to the first episodes
Spoiler: | some character examples:
Murphy started as an asshole, then several good/bad character changes, and now he seems like a good guy
Finn suddenly went complete berserker (RIP though )
That black grounder grandma acting like a bitch, and after Octavia gets herself beaten up she suddenly is much friendly towards her and wants to train her

That doesn't make much sense to me. The Ark was not really that much of a threat. They gathered an army large enough to deal with an extremely well fortified enemy with advanced defences. In comparison, the Ark camp is some barely defendable makeshift camp - they were hardly a considerable threat. If it came down to it, they could be dealt with, the "Mountain Men", on the other hand, are a complete unknown. I would not want them sitting in that mountain unchecked.
Considering how much was sacrificed to get there, the choice made in the end simply appears stupid to me.
At this time it appears to be just one of those moments made for the sake of a twist with a dark turn.
I quite enjoyed the episode otherwise, but that last thing rally ruined it. I wouldn't mind that same outcome if actually made sense. Hopefully they will come up with at least some kind of a passable explanation...

here's one of the writer's explanation. makes sense. |
Well, with that explanation I could at the very least fault the writers for failing to emphasise the seriousness of concerns the attackers had in the fight ahead, after the door had been breached.
Spoiler: | The grounders were all hyped up and ready to go and appeared to be at nearly full strength , the mountain men kept acting like it was game over if those doors fell, Lexa's speech was all about "kill them all" and not "save our people", the mountain was on limited power, with its defences gone, "backdoor" potentially compromised and with a constant threat of irradiation since doors were open. In this context I would see Lexa to be willing to sacrifice quite a few for the sake of eliminating the threat of Mountain men for good, instead of giving in to save a few of her people (especially considering how much was sacrificed just to get to that point). |
In short, I just think the writers oversold the advantage and superiority of the attackers, making the deal appear less sensible.
Of course I know this is a CW show, so I normally wouldn't expect award winning execution, but up to that point they managed to keep the plot going forward quite well.

I started making up my backlog of this show and I must say that at start I despised it as new teen drama but now I'm impressed episodes 10 and 11 had some nice moral dilemmas albeit couldn't say that they were original.
EDIT: And finished it. Great season but it would be more dark if
