Ridley Scott lost it long ago. I doubt he's able to regain his former glory.
Aside from the scripts his movie direction and style have not been lost. They have been refined. Look at derpetheus. If the script was better. Movie would have been fantastic. If you watch it on mute... It has good direction... Good atmosphere.... Good pacing... He hasn't lost it. Robin Hood same thing. Plagued by the shit script. Other than that....he still has it.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Whole movie in 3 minutes (yeah, yeah kind-a hard of spoilers with biblical tale).

Mjeh, one doesn't need to be religious to watch movies like this. Don't get why people keep throwing that up.
Like any mythology book... the bible could inspire a lot of good movies, games, books,...
Usually it's the serious approach towards it that makes it bad.
Wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be. Not a great movie either and some weird decisions in cast selection... But I expected it having less imagination and more boredom.
I think Scott's best still are Alien and Blade runner. I do not understand why he does these Christianity based stories, other than being cynical and tapping a sure to pay source of believers. A bit like Mel Gibson did with his Christ film.

"These" Christianity stories? which was the other one, Prometheus? And this is not a Christian story, it's Jewish if anything and he didn't make it religious.
Mel Gibson on the other hand did that one due to personal religion.
