1st boss done in 1st try, i have to admit that it didnt happen in any souls games before.
feels like BB is too easy, level was complex and convoluted a bit, but after you unlock the doll it becames 2 easy, 20hp/shots every time you get back, and you can store them = ifninite supply of health regeneration.

Since the game gives you pretty much unlimited health pickups its way easier than any previous souls games I think. I guess they wanted to appeal to the non-die hard souls fans or something. Im loving the game so far though.
Spoiler: | Is Father Gascoigne classed as the 2nd boss? |
Oh yeah and this made me lol

Spoiler: | Also I accidentally hit the doll and took half her health which I guess means she can be killed? Anyone do this? |
May the NFOrce be with you always.

I havent really made much progress, beat the first 2 bosses, and then running around old yharnham for now. Taking my time lol.

take all the time and enjoy it, souls games have to be explored and savoured
about invasions,
Spoiler: | you can get invaded if you ring the beckoning ball, asking for help, and a bell ringing woman appears in your world (she can be killed to block any invasions in that session).
if you want to invade another player's world yourself, you do it by ringing the sinister resonating bell (what i ve been doing), in that case the other player doesnt notice that he is being invaded, so you can sneak around and catch him off guard.
now if you ring the sinister resonating bell while a bell ringing woman is closeby in your own world, then you get invaded by another player instead, but this is different from normal invasion because you are informed of it and the other player has the title "adversary", which basically makes it a mutually agreed pvp battle.
|
this is what i gathered personally so far, now apparently from software commented that it is actually possible to be invaded randomly even without ringing any bells, but i guess this has to do with being a member of specific covenants (or oath memory as theyre named in bloodborne), but i havent found one so far and am pretty excited about them

Dude.... that's so fucking cool, thanks for all that info. So much to learn about the mechanics still..
Quick question though
Spoiler: | When a Bell Maiden is in your world, is there any way of knowing? Is there some sort of notification or sound? I wanna kill that bitch as quickly as possible if it happens lol |

After dying a lot just before the bridge, i just fucking run past everything to reach the first boss and die.
At least i can level up now.
I can understand the idea that you gain feeling with the mechanics of the game without upgrading yet. But after a while the dying without the ability to lvl up just gets frustrating.

Averaging 93 on Metacritic with the lowest critics review score being 80 here are user reviews rating the game as zero
Quote: | This is honestly one of the worse games I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Why do we do anything we do in this game? For what reason? Story is more bare bones than a dinosaur skeleton. There's no point or interest in progressing, it's a bunch of random game-design-traps in a row, all already seen in previous Souls games, proving repetitive and boring for anyone who's played them (which already were boring in their own way). Couple that with awful framerate drops and you've got the PS4's most disappointing exclusive yet.
A shallow Monster Hunter clone with terrible clunky controls, dated looking graphics, TERRIBLE frame-rate. The game design is extremely poor, the flow of the game is stunted and uneven. Uses cheap gimmicks of artificial difficulty to extend a tedious and ultimately boring game.
There is no real reason why this game has to be difficult just for the sake of being difficult. Every game should be able to be enjoyed by everyone regardless of skill level not just those who want to feel "hardcore". Hopefully FROM takes that into account when they release their next game. Difficulty choices affects no one & everyone can play at a level they feel comfortable with. Because of that I can't recommend Bloodborne to those that just want to play & enjoy the game. Dying 50 times on the same boss is not fun.
I was absolutely excited to jump into bloodborne as I've heard and read so many great things. Boy what a letdown, cant believe I fell for the hype it’s the same as all the other hackers out there! The gameplay is so unbelievably repetitive and it just drags on and on and on and the story is just not my type of thing and immediately got bored within the first 30 minutes. I've wasted good money on this and feel completely ripped off by listening to the endless worship of this game which is just like any other game of its genre out there, nothing new to see here at all.
Writing this to help people like me. I've been a gamer since pong in the 70's, I'm a 44 year old man, I love gaming. I like challenges. I hate this game, some people really resonate with this series and the challenge "get gud" screw that, I like to be entertained for my hard earned money and my scarce time, I don't like playing a level over and over only to have to do it over again because I made a mistake or my "timing" is off. This game doesn't allow for nuance of playing style. It's play this way or enjoy the frustration. I tried to give it time, I gave it 8 hours of my life, my time is valuable to me, and 8 hours to stay in the same damn level!? No thank you. Taking it back and getting something that I will enjoy. I'd give it a less than zero review if I could. |
May the NFOrce be with you always.

I have a hard time finding the way thru the world, mainly cuz everything looks the same.
I´m about 20h in, beaten perhaps 5-6 bosses. Really hope the setting changes soon.
Dks was really easy to distinguish what area. I mean it was basicly a mario-game. Fire world, Ice world, forest world, desert, etc...
I also miss fashion souls. Where are all weapons and armour?
But other than that the game rox. Hope to find alot of secrets!

About sums up how I feel so far. Only dicked around a bit for a couple of hours, to try out the various weapons and get a feel for it, but first impression is great. Does have some nags which a lot of you already mentioned, but they're just that: nags. Only thing that feels weird to me is the quickstep, somehow that just doesn't fit. Especially when you get one of those Batman-esque steps and make this ridiculous jump around your target

I really dislike that the healthbars (which i tend to look at quite often in fights) is so slow to update..
Otherwise it's quite good, the graphics impresses the hell out of me (sometimes it has its advantages of being someone who usually plays 10 to 15 year old games most of the time hehe)

Are you aware that you should be happy that they're slow to update ?
You get your HP back if you attack enemies just after you've just lost HP - I love this gameplay mechanic.
