How is it technically wise? Too many bugs? Fear of that (especially because of Obsidian's reputation) is what stopped me from pre-ordering it. |
The only bug I've experienced so far is my mouse traveling over to my second monitor even when "cage cursor" is enabled in the options.

What the fucking point of ROGUE with high DEX if in 95% of cases your light weapons -- daggers and light swords -- are absolutely ineffective. I started as Rogue but now I see my mistake if I had to resort to big axes and maces in order to do any decent damage.
What the actual fuck. What the point, easier to restart as a warrior/paladin.

Try ranged instead, still gives you bonus. My hireling Rogue from the tavern is dealing 60+ a shot with her Arbalist. My "only" problem with the Rogue, is thats in no way a rogue, its 100% an assassin which you can then give mechanics :/

Lol the way your party can get wrecked in seconds depending on the encounter is...amusing.
I'm in some tiny tomb with a Spectre and 4 Justicars and they destroy my party with some AoE bullshit in the blink of an eye.
Is there a way to pre-buff with Priest spells etc before combat? I'm guessing not but it sure would help.

Already invested into close-range. My long-range WAY too slow and pointless and the interrupt penalty for it greater.
I'm trying to understand the logic behind classes existence besides "for the sake of classes"but failing.

Yeah, with new games such as this, I always wait a week so I can discover which classes or skills are useless and which are best.
Reading about the rogue a few posts above, it seems my favorite choice in most RPGs (a dual wielding thief/assassin) may not be that fun here which is a big shame since that's the most fun class to play.

Ordinary attacks seem meeeeh , but there's some potential in using statuses like "Hobbled" etc to deliver quick bursts of damage ("sneak attacks"). That's all I've got so far.

Got a few hours in and I REALLY massively regret rolling Wizard for two reasons -
1. The micromanagement is absolutely crazy. Almost every useful spell must be targeted down to the millimeter, as well as taking the stupid "delay" system into account - this gets old incredibly quickly. Even Divinity: Original Sin wasn't this bad in this regard.
2. On Hard difficulty the fact that you are limited to 2 supplies means that 99% of fights you'll be using the "per encounter" starter spell followed by infinite wand auto-attack spamming - and reserving your main repertoire of useful/cool spells only after your party has wiped and you have quick-loaded a few times. Since you have no idea how long a dungeon will be, or how many supplies you'll find therein, you have no way to gauge when it's safe to rest without running out of supply midway through.
The whole Wizard needing to rest thing was fine in NWN and the like, as you could rest after every encounter. Here, it makes the class almost entirely worthless unless you know every encounter that awaits you ahead of time.
The path-finding and engaged/disengage system is also incredibly broken/clunky.
Really enjoyed it for the first bit, until all the broken mechanics started shining through. Not sure whether to just re-roll another class and start anew or not.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Restarted the game: one character gets maimed, bear keeps attacking this time, second character gets mauled, I am dead. Meh... [this is on NORMAL difficulty setting]
I am sure that once the bear is dead, any bug is irrelevant. |
Go to town first and you'll find some help, then go back to kill the bear. |
I ALREADY ( ) have help from town. Like I said, I play on normal difficulty setting. My caster elf is getting killed in one shot and my paladin can't sustain enough damage to down the bear fast.
Went as far as "Near Death" status on the furry bugger but could not repeat that. But, no problems, I will return later!
Spoiler: | In that cave there is some sort of quest-related corpse, I think? Might be about a murder... Didn't manage to read throughout the text, as I reloaded a quick-save to restart the bear encounter, as it got bugged. |

You can rest even without resources if you use a console.Personally I don't like that they limited camping resources. .It's a dubious feature. I mean.. they allow save scumming (which I'm perfectly fine with lol) but do this shit? Not cool.

Not me,. However, I could never properly exit the game. It always crashes when I click quit in the main menu.

I made my main character a barbarian, got 21 might from race + subtype bonuses. Seems pretty powerful so far.
I'm not sure whether I should stick to 2h weapons or dual wield, 2h weapons do nice damage but are so slow in combat. In BG2 you could just shove two proficiency points in two handed specialisation and get a massive speed bonus, doesn't seem to be an equivalent here.

What? No! What warrior?! Nvm... haha...
My experience was quite short in town: saw a foul mouthed elf in "distress", went incredibly happy that he didn't sound gay, hired him, turned even more happy seeing he's a caster (I am sorta tank/paladin) so it can complement the party... and returned to the damn bear...
Oh btw, aren't we suppose the use different weapons/types of attack on different enemies?! How on earth can we find out what type is more efficient if your party dies so fast... ?! They don't even have time to complain (as hinted by the game)... Will check BESTIARY; but when I looked there, the information was way too scarce...

Would never have had a chance against the damnable bear unless i had my pet (playing hunter). I tried a dozen times at the very least until i was lucky enough to have both me and my mage companion alive after the fight. I survived alone a few times, but i don't know if he loses out on the xp if the mage is down when the enemy dies.
And how does the xp work? Is say 50xp from a bear shared between members or does everyone get 50xp each?

You don't really get much from the bestiary in the long term, but I think it's individual xp and gets added even if the party member is knocked out.
Either way I wouldn't be too concerned as the vast majority of XP comes from quests.

There is just so many games where the knocked out character doesn't receive any xp, so i didn't take any chances.

Well. fatigue is killing me. Literally.
I don't like that I must say. Simple HP bar would be better for my taste.
Anyways...
Question about Druid - when I start I can pick one of the animals to transform, from what I read, will other be available later? With levels?
