hy all,
im /we are looking for an good Psychological horror movie, something that creeps us out and plays with our minds, get scared from the story,details and not from the splatterism(well nasty stuff is allowed, but shouldnt be throughout the whole movie.)..Oh, and it needs to be a bit inteligent. i think you get what i mean..
Please dont recomend me an hollywood shitbuster horror without mind and details..
is there such a flik?
maybe kinda like hanibal (the series)..but in movie form..

haha, u got me...
well, i allready own them, i didnt really ment teh hanibal series...
i need something scary, fucked up, playing with ur brain and makes u feel throw up...something that triggers ur own phantasie and mind to build a horror scenario.. dunno how to explain this, haha...
i got friends, and they look horror fliks, like sinister, and wrong turn, etc...mindless stuff, not really intelligent made and not real horror..
so, i wanna show them a REAL Horror Flik, that plays with them..
got me?

That's the thing... the more psychological ones tend to be thrillers rather than horror. Really can't come up with anything that is not a thriller

Well there are some psychological horrors
Blair witch
Babadook
Mirrors
Ringu
Just to name a few but they focus more on the horror aspect
Good horrors these days have a psychological element but it's not as deep as let's say man hunter or silence of the lambs... And most psychological movies from back then are seen as lol moments now because media exploited them to high heavens
Look at psycho. The shower scene. Meant to be terrifying. It was then. But now unless you've been living under a rock youre like well it's well shot at least. And then the reveal of Norman bates is laughable.
Suspiria is a very good horror movie not many have seen.
Chronos by Del toro is also good
Shining still holds up, tho maze scene is lol
Rosemary's baby is also good
Identity i really liked
Funny games both original and remake
Cache also good but french that one scene still has shock value
Seven but you gotta watch it with fresh eyes
Frailty is a v good Mathew maxhongaheye movie
Some may say in the mouth of madness but it watches like a TV movie and Sam Neil isn't a good actor, but it's very lovecraftian
There's a lot. But you have to figure out what you want more. Horror or that slow creeping terror.

thanks for the great response.
its exactly that, "media exploited them to high heavens ". its hard to find a really decent flik. im a little old shool, hehe, so i know what you mean.
i will work down that list now from you and teh others.
Blair witch was one of those that haunted me for years and gave me an totally different feeling when i walk through teh woods when it gets dark, also empty houses etc, i allways feel strange in them... that was in 1998 or so i think...
Also Shining, all time classic for me, a must have movie, so to say.. i envy King, got all of his books
oh, also "the Machinist" with christian bale, awesome stuff...
Chronos sounds very interessting, didnt knew that one... THX
when im finished reviewing that stuff, ill post back and make a little list here so other people have something out of it too...

Idi i Smotri (shows the horrors of war, it's one of the best movies I've seen)
That's it for now I guess.. But you could check most of Hitchcocks work, they have so much suspense it'll make you stay on the edge of your seat, afraid of stuff going the wrong way.. bla bla

These are insanely good, not horror, but just amazing.
One more thing, you should check Nosferatu the Vampyre aswell, Klaus Kinski is a god.
