Man, finaly tried it, and after having played everysingle moba out there, this does not interest me in the least, its so casual, you dont buy items, you sometimes select between 2 (yes 2!!!) skills to level up. sometimes you just lvl up the ultimate (duh) and that right there is the nail in the cofin, its realy made for ppl that have no clue how to use the lvling system of dota/league/smite etc
They really wanna make sure this reaches as many ppl as possible, and it will, cause the average guy playing a dota match does not have the half a brain to do it, so he will lean towards this game, its not a bad game, its just not something i would play more than 1 match a week.. its that dull..
Low cooldowns, almost zero building of character /select one of 2 skills, ultimate is mandatory lvl up every time..
Way too fast matches to get a sense of progression, the team that goes for the objectives wins instantly, and although theres no char snowballing, the game itself snowballs, it just creats the ilusion that it doenst, but it rly does if you dont play the objective you will be stomped, especialy in maps where you get that dragon knight and stuff, the game will end very soon, imo its way too reliable in those objectives to reach the victory, it should give you a little help, not turn the game.
Every hero is build 1 of 2 ways, a sup can go carry and a tank can go dps etc, huh, this game....

I wanted to react to one point raised by hellishere in his impressions. In competitive (PvP) games, clarity of design does not mean that the game is easy. In other words, winning in a simple game against another player is just as difficult as winning in a complicated game against another player (under the assumption that the other player understands the game roughly as well as you do).
I'm a long-time LoL player who started many years ago with DOTA1, and for one I'm pretty impressed with HotS - it's fresh and has a different approach to the genre. Right now I alternate between HotS and LoL.

Well if someone has a key for it i would like to try it.
I m signed in for the beta for months.. but it's not like they are in a hurry to give keys... but the game is generously sitting on my battle.net suggesting for me to buy the founder's pack.. yeah... no..

I wish i had more keys... but signed up on multiple things already to get keys for friends to play with me... but nope.. guess my first time that i got invited was really lucky

This is true, i was really just trying to say that, the game has really not that much deph, therefore is easier to master, at least for someone with over 2000h of league or dota, and the interest will drop severely in the game, if you find it way too easy to master/play.
As far as competitive goes, yes i guess your are absolutely correct, everyone has the same chances/dificulties of winning a game on the same playfield, and i guess also in this game it should be easy for everyone, or at least experienced dota/league players, and when those are matched against ppl who never played a moba, man its a stomp fest..

I have a friend, a huge fan of MOBAs and LoL in particular, who visited me a month ago (we keep in touch even though I moved to another city). Anyway, I showed him HotS (I'm in the alpha) and, well, he ended up playing a bunch of games on my computer. Sadly he didn't get into the beta.
If you have a key to spare, I'd like to give him one so we could play together.
