I don't really have a problem with feminists if we talk about the true meaning of it. Striving for equality (not parity). I always supported that idea. But I do have a problem with what this new generation's definition of feminism is... which is pretty much anti men.
They are a bunch of hypocrites. Thinking they are better, deserve more,... How is that equality? That's how crazy some of them are: they don't see that they are showing the same behaviour that they are fighting against.
So no I don't have a problem with feminism... I have a problem with over-sensitiveness, overly PC bullshit and feminazis. I know we all need to grow up sometime... but most of us did it after they left high school unlike that generation of "everybody is a winner".

I can't help but think the "woman" in this game might as well be wearing a burka for all the identity she has. If we're going to tell real stories, it's best we do that with characters who closely resemble real people.

Honestly, boycotting obsidian over this is as bad as boycotting them over the limerick (whatever ) in the first place. And the writing was on the wall pretty much as soon as it started, sawyer likes dat sjw clique (even if he likely doesn't have the final word on the decision).
The real fun will start when the special flowers and hitler wannabe's start bitching about actual content or quests developed by obsidian themselves. Because now they could get behind all of the "wasn't us, wasn't intentional", but as soon as it happens again and they don't have that excuse, then we'll see. And then, if they cave in, then I'll believe that you won't even need to start with any boycott calls, IMO people will see and understand that it's just not worth it to keep supporting them and they'll be openly mocked.

I'm sorry Toni, I think the post speaks for itself. It seems quite clear to me (far clearer, for instance, than the "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!111111 OMG! THE NEW GRAVE IS SO FUCKING HILARIOUS! It looks more than a little coerced to me and I absolutely do not believe Obs gave him a choice, but rather they gave him the APPEARANCE of coming out on top after forcing him to change the limerick.
In the end, it doesn't matter. Everyone will go on supporting the company, proving time and time again that people like Ian Miles Cheong, Brianna Wu and that icequeendudeperson have total and complete control over the industry. I won't think less of you for buying Obs games, Toni, I ask the same courtesy in return for me removing my future support of them. Let's just live and let live.

I doubt we'll ever know the full truth with it. Firedorn likes the company enough to give them $500, so I doubt he'll say anything overly damaging about them.
Maybe it was entirely voluntary and he's just venting about the stupidity of the situation, or maybe it was the illusion of choice and they would change it anyway if he hadn't done it voluntarily. |
