Are you aware that you should be happy that they're slow to update ?
You get your HP back if you attack enemies just after you've just lost HP - I love this gameplay mechanic. |
I often find myself dead when the healthbar is at ~half, and enemies dead when their healthbar is half.. it's annyoing. Not sure how many times i've thought "wow, i got half my health left.. wait no.. actually i'm already dead, it just wasnt updated".
I agree that the mechanic with getting HP back is nice.

the red bar, which is your hp, updates instantly, the orange-ish bar left over is the one that has a delay to give you a chance to regain your health.
btw, a tip for people pvp-ing or fighting npc hunters who like to heal themselves:
Spoiler: | while the opponent is healing, quickly shoot them with your gun, they will go into stagger like when you "parry" and you can finish them off. what a beautiful way of punishment |

its also easy 1 on 1 with 2 strategies i figured out:
Spoiler: |
a) rifle spear's 2h R2 charge attack, its one of the safest long range melee attacks i ve seen so far, its tremendously useful against any kind of poison enemies that you dont want to get too close to.
b) given the boss is "blood-starved" you can toss a pungent blood cocktail somewhere, he will go there and lick it all up, while you let your weapon have its way with his asshole for a couple of strikes. rinse and repeat

phew, finished it after around 50 hrs, what an experience.
managed to fully solo through it and killed all (i think) optional "campaign" bosses too, excluding chalice dungeon bosses.
a masterpiece of horror, the souls game always were creepy, but bloodborne raised the terror to a completely new level, some of the later locations, enemies, general sound and art design sent many shivers down my spine. the inspiration from h.p. lovecraft and the cthulhu mythos is obvious.
as expected there is alot of lore again, and the story is very unsettling and cryptic, there is still alot i dont understand about it so i ll have to make sure i read all the item descriptions properly.
the gameplay is perfect, a wide variety of enemies that force you to use different tactics with inspired and unique boss battles. its evident that miyazaki was on helm again here after his absence in dark souls 2, the quality of pretty much every aspect took a big step forward compared to the previous game.
i personally found the difficulty to be overall maybe slightly lower than in dark souls games, but higher than in demons souls.
this doesnt concern the optional chalice dungeons though, from what i ve played so far i believe that the lowest depths could become the greatest challenge of the souls series.
i am exhausted and need some sleep now, yet i feel like jumping right back into ng+, as i missed some questlines and hence cant get all the covenants/ oath memories on my first run.
10/10
and no less.

Spoiler: | illusory walls only in the chalice dungeons, you have to hit them with a weapon. as for the 2nd boss, i just abused axe's 2h r2 charge attack over and over. once you re at the part where your weapon shines, he cant stop your attack even if he attacks you during it. you will lose some health in that case but will instantly regain it during your charge attack. if done right you can shave off a quarter of his health in one go. |

I'm pretty excited about chalice dungeons, but I am staying away from them until after I beat the main game.
Just got to Spoiler: | Amelia | ... yeah I'm slow

Spoiler: | the altar in hunters dream | is where you equip runes and oaths, but you need to find a special item to be able to use it in the first place. you get the item after Spoiler: | the hemwick witch boss if you continue onwards into the back room. the boss is in the forest area to the left of the staircase leading to the grand cathedral boss |

you can just farm a bit and buy the axe in hunters dream, no need to start a new character.

well hard to say in a souls game since theyre not very linear and depending which path you take and what optional bosss you fight etc., but i d say around 1/2 to 2/3 through.

Just unlocked the last tombstone. I haven't co-op'd yet but I tried once or twice -- no one ever showed. I'm currently level 65. I mirror the Zeel's review of this game...10/10

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/bloodborne-patch-1-02-fixes-game-breaking-bug/1100-6426308/
Quote: | The latest patch issued by From Software for Bloodborne updates the game to version 1.02 and fixes a potentially serious bug that prevents players from progressing.
The bug would occur if a player had participated in online multiplayer as a co-operative guest or hostile invader by using either of the "Resonant Bell" items in the Forbidden Woods. Afterwards, the user would not be able to obtain the Lunarium Key. Without that, players can't fight the next area's boss (and access the unlocks received for defeating him), nor can they visit Master Willem or the Moonside Lake. The patch also fixes other unspecified bugs, including the item duplication exploit. |
2.68GB according to my PS4!
May the NFOrce be with you always.

timing, patience, tactics and alot of practice.
you have to let go of fear and become one with the game, you have to become like water, as bruce lee always said
at some point you will become so good at it that you can time your dodges perfectly in a split second every single time without fail, you will know when exactly to move in for a strike, and when to stay back or dodge.
and remember, whenever you think "this is impossible", there are people who beat the toughest dark souls boss with a steering wheel, ddr pad and donkey kong drums
