I also have to wonder what the point of a limited content beta was. Granted I can see the desire to keep the narrative under wraps prior to release, but comparing the first and second halves of Wasteland 2 shows the massive benefit of having backers beta test the actual core content vs keeping things internal. |
From what I've heard a lot of these bugs weren't present in the beta, some were even fixed during the beta but reintroduced in release.

That's my point. The beta wasn't a beta of the actual final game, it was a separate offshoot. And that was a mistake.

Which means Monday or Tuesday for me.
At this point, I'm like fuck this shit. I had time until then to play, I will be busy with other stuff later on.
Huge mistake to not fix really simple issues in 24 hours. The only reason this bothers me so, is because I really liked the game, but like I said before, it's a budget title, and now it really shows. |
Well, I was effected by bloated saves and attributes bug, but with community solutions, I fixed them both and had no further problems. I even continued to using that bugged spell and summonings. Naturally It's not ideal needing to check file sizes, and using a fix if the get bloated, but I don't see it as something that would keep me from playing.
Besides that, the game is very clean quest wise. Even more so that Wasteland 2 at launch. I guess both companies learned on past mistakes at least in that area.

Preliminary patch notes: https://forums.obsidian.net/blog/7/entry-179-patch-notes-103/
Huge mistake bundling up the fixes instead of releasing the critical ones. I just can't understand, why they want to get everything done in one bundle, and not launch the gamebreaking hotfixes. Boggles the mind, really.

If I didn't already have the AoE sleep spell I would be annoyed at Slicken being nerfed.

I seriously hope they won't start nerfing ciphers... I'd rather they buffed other classes.

Yeah, I never used Slicken a single time. Used Aloth for AoE damage. No need to do anything else with the engagement system in the game.
Bet the backer joke will be a stealth removal.

Game is pretty easy as is. PotD would be the only difficulty with any challenging parts if they buffed everything to Cipher level.

Grease I guess, standard low-level spell of D&D I believe along with sleep (Although you don't coup-de-grace enemies in BG1 after using that spell on them unlike D&D.) and a few others, haste is arguably pretty powerful as well although most of the D&D computer games featuring that spell had it being nearly mandatory in tougher fights as it doubles your attacks.
(Whereas fireball was pretty toned down unlike some earlier DOS games - SSI Goldbox for example. - where it affected a huge area and remained viable nearly for the entire game, heh.)

Can someone help me, I'm not quite sure this is a bug, but it's very strange.
I haven't used Hiravias at all, but he has like ... 20 base damage reduction and the other damage reductions are pretty high as well. What the fuck?
Is this normal?

Not used him yet, but that does sound overly high. Stat stacking bug maybe?

Never used him before. He was sent straight to stronghold, and I thought I could continue the game, since I did all the stats on my whole party, and only one was bugged - Kana (( I enjoyed him most. But decided to continue with Hiravias. Added him to the party, and he has this incredibly high damage reduction, which makes no sense - seems like a new bug

I'm pretty sure there will be mod to restore it.
Regardless, it changes nothing. Obsidian is spineless pussies.

Actually people want a mod to get rid of all the other ones as well. I never bothered reading the gravestones myself after the first one or two, but it seems people with OCD can't help themselves and have to click on every single interactive object.

What I don't like is how they decided to make fights more "challenging" but in fact they just made playing this game somewhat irritating coz these changes are really dubious to say the least ..
- rest limit
- certain buffing spells disabled out of combat
This one doesn't make any sense at all. Why a wizard can't cast this or that defensive\buffing spell outside of combat? It's just contrived. And this is why it is so irritating
- certain attack abilities disabled out of combat
It doesn't make any sense either. So, a fighter can't use X to attack someone coz..well. no reason.. just coz devs say so.
These totally artificial constraints are just bad pretty much coz they are ridiculous and make absolutely no sense. That's just lazy.

Yea, that fight gave me a headache in the beta It was actually even harder, because
Spoiler: | Alyss didn't run off - she just standed there and got killed when I used AoE. So I had to cast that lvl 1 priest protection spell to make her disappear - and remember to recast it if needed - before I could get on with the fighting. |
