I just gained a new favourite horror flick.
Wow!
Beats the japanese "little giggling girl"-horrors, and the american "fast cuts, lots of effects"-horrors any day.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

honestly I don't see how you can say this is an amazing film. Every1 who left the cinema was groaning and moaning about it. Also as for saying it's better than japanese horror films... don't think so! There are plenty of decent 1's around.

First of all, I think this movie is a whole lot of finding the right balance and suspension that works for me, at the same time as character development is an integral part of moving on. I think this movie has just the right pace to make even uneventful moments charged.
Why I personally like this movie so much, is the fact that, to me, it is realistic in the manners how something would be rational. If you just suspend disbelief while watching it, it'll start creeping you out, and the fact it doesn't really care for established Hollywood principles on how to build scenes (which is why most people dislike it so) makes the scenes unpredictable.
I think this movie conveys the raw, grit claustrophobic sting you get from tight spaces, whilst really pressuring you along the ride.
It may not be that scary, I don't think it's meant to be, I see it as a journey into our reptilian brain, and how when the elements get to us, civilisation goes out the door.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

Hey I never said it was an amazing film. Hell I haven't even watched it yet! I just get annoyed when people are talking about a movie and someone keeps on saying it sucks or something over and over or try to convince other people that it sucks.

anyway just saw it... very nice flick truly proves that britain holds great horror directors.
The intensity and the "spookyness" really levels this movie to a high point where you just say "wow"
8/10

I really enjoyed it, especially the characterisation.
It just got a little silly when Juno turned into a terminatrix.

Movie sucked big time. Nothing happens until about 50 minutes into the film. Magazines such as Empire only give it 5 stars because of near the end of the film and even then on it wasn't that good.
I'd rate it 1/5 stars

Can I have the noose now Sublime...?
5/10
Decent attempt at a horror movie, but it just doesnt cut it...like where's the gps devices most adventurers carry nowadays? why wouldnt everyone have their own map (hence knowing its not the spot at the beginning)? Why wouldnt u bring ATLEAST a machete? not even for the sake of killin zombie things, but any wild animals that may be hostile...dumb fuckin broads....not to mention those little ass shafts...this movie needed a man...seriously. Im not trying to sound sexist, but no guy in their right mind would crawl through some of the shit they did...no fuckin way. Rock climbing, repelling...no problem, but not through some tiny as holes, with gear on, not knowing where im going, no fuckin way...would have climbed back up, had a smoke and j and waited at the car... ...soon as that shit goes down, it got really cheesy and corny id say.
Still, I can see this being some kinda dike cult classic....and i still dont get the ending...

Spoiler: | She dies ,
Notice how the daughter appear everytime shes about to die. And in the end you actually see her blow the lights and she sort of (sits) in front of her watching it.

Exactly, and thats why its retarded...no man would ever go into a place like that without ATLEAST some kinda big, dirty, cuttin ppl to pieces knife...fuck, I'd have a gun and a few clips still - Im not jokin...ur going into some dark fuckin cave, dont know whats there...fuck zombies, how about walkin into a lions den or something...nope, a nice .45 and a few clips, maybe a rifle and for sure a killing knife. Not to mention night vision goggles - seriously, u can pick up StarLight Night Vision Goggles for like $500-$1000 (depending on model)...smart investment if ur a serious adventurer as they all claim to be...
Like, is the movie trying to prove that those women are fuckin clueless?
I know I sound like the biggest sexist pig, im not trying to come across like that at all...its just common sense. When u adventure, u have to be prepared for all sorts of danger
As for ur spoiler mut, yeah, i figured that...but still, its so lame...

A lions den in those type of caves? LOL, yeah, a flying lion maybe.
What the would you use a rifle/gun/etc. for? To shoot bats?
They had knives.
And, yes, people actually go into deep caves such as these without guns, big knives, etc.
GPS is pretty much useless, there are only so few maps over cave systems (As they're usually 3D, a map-based GPS is pretty much useless).
They do that shit for fun, basically. There are a lot of crazy people out there that do shit like this, they do it to get an adrenaline kick.
I think they had most equipment you need for climbing caves such as those, anyone who brings a gun (which most likely WILL cause cave-ins) is silly.
The only thing I thought was stupid was that they didn't bring the maps, but the good friends they were, they relied on the girl who would be the guide, and she led them to the wrong caves.
Yes, yes I'm back.

The were supposed to be cave diving in a 'tourist-trap' or something like that. You wouldn't bring a gun/machete to these kind of places. But then that chick Juno lied to everyone and decided to switch it to a more remote cave system.
And the camcorder had night vision
