@sabin1981 For your pad emulation needs, I use http://emulation-general.wikia.com/wiki/SCP_Driver_Package - it allows native use of DS3 and DS4 without any real difficulties. It can run as a Windows service and pairing is as easy as plugging the pad in via USB once, and then it's bluetooth ready.
You just run the Xbox driver setup from MS, which installs the gamepad drivers, and that's really it.
I've been using it for years.

I'd prefer to use DS4W, as already shown, I need more than "just plug in and it works" ... I could get that from a 360 controller after all, I need customisation and compatibility with *every* game, not just xinput ones. Thank you though.

Not causing strife in any way, but could you point me towards something that doesn't use xinput?

Any game that isn't a port of an X360 game? Anything made before 2006? I don't know why this is an issue, I don't like being locked to xinput, I like having control over what button does what and whether or not a game decides that I *should* be using analogue stick despite the fact that I *don't* want to. You can't change that with inxput, with BDS3 or DS4W, you can.
You did see the conversation we were all talking about earlier, right? :\ I play a *lot* of games that aren't 360 ports, or aren't made this decade, I play emulators and I play classics. Hell, even the most recent port of FFVII and FFVIII are problematic to me, which is why I have specific profiles in BDS3 that let me switch between analogue stick and d-pad, or remap buttons. Even look at Dead or Alive 5, where a shocking amount of people - using official 360 controllers at that - are having their buttons fucked with, like triggers not working and Start/Select being erroneously mapped to L1/R2 instead. This doesn't happen with me Speaking of triggers, that's another one too ... the "360 driver" defines the triggers as analogue inputs and analogue inputs *only*, which also conflict with games that don't see additional analogues and are expecting digital inputs.

@Rasmus In an interview they mentioned it's similar to GTA IV. But they will make sure nobody touches Online.
Other than that you'll have to wait and see.

Right, I get you now. I use Pinnacle Game Profiler, mainly because I am utterly lazy, but also as it's easy to use and remarkably powerful and configurable.
BTW DOA5 worked flawlessly with SCP and a DS3

Whereas BDS3/DS4W have that built in, no need for external apps That's why I don't understand why people keep recommending SCP over everything else, if offers a "plug and play" ability, sure, but then you're recommended to install MORE apps to get the SAME functionality BDS3/DS4W offers. It's.. odd to me.
"Use MiJ and BDS3"
"NO! MiJ is adware crapware spamware wareware!"
"I only use the driver, I have BDS3 take care of functionality"
"NO! Get SCP, it's better!"

As it does with my DS3 and BetterDS3, but official Xbox 360 controller users aren't so lucky, it seems
