This has become the most coherent distro as of late for me. They have developed a lot of core apps, and everything has a consistent look and feel.

Seems a good enough reason to avoid

Joking aside, I dont see why people dont just use Debian and customise it to their liking, rather than these things, although atleast with this one it does try and be 'different' using a customised mutter (have only read wikipedia so maybe its not)

Its still looks like Gnome3 with a dock on the wikipedia screenshot.

Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!

So why not write your entire OS in assembly rather than these linux things? Rolling Eyes

This is actually the first Linux distribution that has a coherent HIG, design direction (even if somewhat similar to Apple's), strive for consistency, etc that you don't normally have. There are actually designers working on it... Shocked

Also, elementary OS is not using GNOME, it's using Pantheon.

I've installed it on my mini-laptop and it's actually pretty neat. I do like it as a cheap/free alternative to OSX. ^_^

Nice os but sometimes it's freezing at boot (luna) and you need to restart (at least on my side). I am running Linux Mint 17 now for a few days and i love it.

Edit: Freya is running better on my laptop, no single issue Very Happy
