Pretty much. From what I saw the reception to the console versions died down quite hard and tons of people didn't even finish the game due to boredom. The story is supposedly really boring and the non-story free roam activities very shallow.
Hopefully it'll tide me over until Witcher 3 though which might not be good but should entertain me enough until MGS Phantom Pain. |
my biggest issue with rockstar titles is that as more and more come out, the "missions" stay the same and it's already incredibly stale for me. every single game is the same in the sense that there's so much filler quests/mini games that simply are not fun to play. GTA V suffers from this more than ever because aside from the incredible visuals there's not a lot of things to do other than grind to buy x y or z (which is useless anyway)
online contributes to this even more so in the sense that it's a bigger grind and due to the lack of single player elements that might help you bare those boring side missions more (character dialogue etc) it's all gone. it's just a big grind, you grind to buy a nice car but in an empty world there's no fucking point in having that car. I wish MP didn't exist, if they used that budget on the SP it would probably be a great game but at this moment in time GTA V is torn between half finished SP and half finished MP.
edit: actually to add to it I did really enjoy the first half of the game (my first 2 days or so in the game) and i'm sure everybody here will too. it's the later parts that suffer the most.

I 100%'d GTA V on 360 and it was the best GTA game after Vice City.

yep felt the same way, its the closest to vice city quality and the only other gta game next to it with decent characters.

My *only* complaint about GTA V was that it had far too few SP heists and that they were purely related to story missions. Other than that? Best damned GTA since Vice City, no doubt.

on 360 i only finished the story and a few other things, cause i believed masterrace version would have been released 6 months after 360. never played online cause 360 is chipped and dont wanted to waste money on the ps4 version

Does anyone know what the real .exe is called? I have "PlayGTAV.exe", but when looking in the Nvidia Inspector profile it lists the game as "gta5.exe" which doesn't exist anywhere on my PC. I added the former to the Nvidia Inspector profile just to be safe, since that's where the SLI profile is already set up.

I'll just post my thoughts about GTA 5 that I posted on Steam:
When I played this on 360 I thought it was so good that I became incredibly immersed in the game, so much so that I had several times where I completely forgot I even existed, and I was Trevor! It's like I wasn't self-aware or something. It could be that sleep deprivation might have played a part in that, considering it was so addictive to play, but still, one of my greatest gaming experiences of my life.
That is the reason I decided to buy it. I do hope it runs well though.

..i was hopping it would already be re-made after GTA IV..that they would've had gone in the same order like before..GTA III, GTA VC, GTA SA..but unfortunately that didn't happen
